No black clothes this winter…or keep it to a low..

Winter

To find out where everything is from click here

…I want to try and avoid black this winter, I would like to include navy blue too but that just will not happen. I have had a crush on navy blue for as long back as I remember. I don’t think I am alone on this one either as my sister and mum both adore navy blue. So, other than navy blue I would like a lot of brown and grey in what I wear this winter. I want layers and warmth and  lots of accessories.

I hope everyone had a lovely Wednesday !

The two stunning architectural rings in the left are created by Philippe Tournaire  - Each one is hand crafted – How very talented … I think I would personally pick ( if I could ever afford one ) Moscow Saint Basil Cathedral ! He has also done a pen version !

My Tuesday

IMG_8599
I don’t like days off work, I would much rather be there getting tasks done and sorted. However, the second day this week I am not in work. I have put some time to doing some social media related tasks from home, sent a few emails and have been making some plans.. this is better than nothing !
I keep telling myself I am a lot better than all of a sudden my body kicks back and gives me the wake up call that I need to have a rest. .  Im not into having a rest. It’s something I need to learn maybe ! Now I have done a little work I do feel I can stop and let myself get better. I think I will make some soup watch Deadwood and read a little for the rest of the day. Oh and some music – Mflow of course.
I am still on the look out for a coat and due to having a cold/bug I think I need to speed the search up a little. Oh and I think I will invest in a pair of ear muffs to go under my many hats ill wear during winter. I would like a navy coat, but I don’t know much else about how I want my coat to look. I have seen a few pretty ones online but they just are not what I am looking for. I am very fussy when it comes to coats, I don’t really like to wear a coat so it can’t be too warm, nor too heavy or bulky. Ill try and compile a list of a few I liked, I would like one in the style of the sailor Topshop coat from last year or the navy and red one from UO.
Enough about a coat.
Do you ever get a cold nose?! I almost always do as soon as winter hits ! Nose warmer ?!

Inika

An 8g pot of Mineral Foundation  - 8g – £24.99
Inika Kabuki Brush – £22.99

If I wear foundation it is usually Benefit You Rebel, it is very soft and is near enough not there when it is on and that is the way I like it. This lovely Mineral Foundation is perfect, it is so soft and really lets my skin breathe when I have it on, again it is not a strong colour but is perfect for my skin. You can build the colour up or down easily with the kabuki brush by using as much or as little as you wish.

The Kabuki brush is fab, it won the ” Must have Brush” from the Natural Beauty Awards 2008. It is 100% certified vegan and 100% certified cruelty free! It is lovely and soft and very handy to pop into your bag!

The pretty gold bag has made its way straight into my work bag, it holds the foundation, brush, a lip cream, white eye liner, black khol and a blusher. So it fits a nice little amount it and doesn’t leave everything swimming around my bag, which does happen quite often !

I am going to keep you updated on how I go with this and after I have been using it for a while I will let you know if I think it is worth the money. As it stands I am really enjoying using it, my skin likes it and I am feeling quite positive about it as I have been using it each day!

I have been ill the past few days, I am hoping to get back to work on the morrow!
Don’t forget to enter my give-away here  !
Photo Of The Day has moved to my other blog!

Evolve Beauty Skin Cocoon Body Wash Dry | sensitive skin

blogreviews1

A 200ml bottle of this is: £8.49

If like me you have sensitive skin and find yourself having to use fragrance free, plain stuff all the time then Evolve Skin Cocoon body wash is for you ! It is sulfate free and is made from aloe vera, coconut and sugar extracts!

Sulfate free !? – Below is a must read …
“
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)

Used as a foaming ingredient and emulsifier. The popularity of SLS in toiletries has decreased in recent years because it is thought to be too harsh to use on the skin. It strips the skins natural oils and can denature (destroy) eye & skin protein.” – The effects ? - Eye irritant, can cause eczema, skin irritation and dry skin. ( Taken from MyPure

You can use this body wash in the shower (obviously) and also as a bath milk, which as you can imagine you just pop a little into your bath to give you a lovely smelling bath and it will make your skin nice and soft too! Sometimes I wish I could enjoy a bath, it really does nothing for me though so I shall stick to showers!

Once again, this is another product I am likely to buy !

Also, I would like to direct to you to the MyPure Chemical check list, it is really interesting and good to know especially if you have eczema and to generally be aware of. Yes, I know almost everything can cause cancer but it is good to be aware of and avoid certain chemicals if you can !

Lovea Bio Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Hair Mask

blogreviews

Lovea Bio is a brand I have fallen in love with since MyPure first introduced me to their lovely products. This hair mask does not fail to keep up the shiny Lovea Bio rep that I have built up in my mind!

Price: £7.99 - Worth it ?! Hell yeah, there is lots in the pot, it smells fab and a small amount goes far ! I tend to stick to showers rather than having a bath but I am rather keen to paste this hair mask on and relax in the bath flicking though old issues Dazed and Confused while the mask does what it does best! However I am yet to do that, so I have been using it in the shower once a week and I must say it really does a fantastic job at making my hair feel healthy and shiny ! I tend to jump out the shower for a short while and paint my nails so that I can let the mask soak in !

As I work in the city and find myself jumping on and off trains each and every day my hair seems to become dry quite quickly and the fumes and english weather can’t be helping ! So I have really found this useful! Sometimes I don’t even need to use it each week, though it does make you feel lovely and fresh once you have give your hair a little extra care !

Hints and Tips from MyPure

After washing and conditioning hair apply Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Hair Mask to towel dry hair. Leave for up to 30 minutes and then rinse out. For best results wrap a towel around your hair.

Can also be used as a leave-in conditioner. Take a small amount of product and rub vigorously between palms then finger through towel dry hair. – I will have to try this as I  have not had the chance to yet !

Getting lost in books ..

Two trips on a train a day gives me a nice amount of time to read or listen to music, sometimes both ! Below are a few books I have made my way through over the past month or two. There is more of course but these are the ones on my desk !

Rain, wind and train delays…yes, winter has pretty much kicked in here in the UK…the North sure has anyway ! I got rid of my cape style coat from Zara as it is time for a new one, so I am  on the look out as quick as I can to find something to keep me cosy whilst standing at train stations and planning my future travels !

CSN give me a hand with my lemon meringue pie

Hi everyone, I want to let you meet my new Kenwood mixer and I must warn you….she is very pretty! The lovely people at CSN gave me a voucher to spend on what I wanted at one of their many online websites… They have lights, cookware, furniture, tvstands and homeware.

I obviously headed straight to the cookware site and found – Kenwood K-Mix ! I am very happy with it, it is fantastic quality and I can tell it is going to last me a life time. As I am back living at home with my parents they have had a sneaky peak at it and are already making good use of it too!

My mum and I were very excited when I put in the order for this and were so pleased when it arrived with a day … or maybe two days ( it was a few weeks back now ). It was packaged very well and the quick delivery was a little bonus.
Here is little Miss Kenwood mixing the meringue !
