A mini update

My work space..

Work space

I hope to do an update tonight, I must tell you about the delightful Aussie fun I had at the weekend and of course tell you about my trip to Italy! I have been a little busy and just not had the chance at all to go through my photos ! On Sunday I made a motion stop film thingy, I need to edit that this week, well put it on my computer. I haven’t been able to do that just yet! Have you ever made a motion stop film?
Ohh, have you seen The Photojojo Store?!

It is full of fun and silly bits and bobs for your camera ! I really want this bokeh kit and some of the colour filters. Or maybe a camera lens mug ?!

Sweeney Todd

sweeney-todd_1119
Last night I watched Sweeney Todd, at long last ! I had seen bits of it before but never the full thing. I really enjoyed it and thought the cinematography was fantastic, I really liked the reflections through the broken glass and the moody colours throughout the film.

Leon Book 2

I was on the train home last week when some of you may have seen me tweet about maybe starting a cooking themed blog. Laura was quick to say I should do so, with her “DO IT” it mind I got to work making notes on the train (in my notebook, not actually on the train…I promise) about what I may do. I got home and was very excited to find I had been sent a copy of Leon Book 2
Leon Book 2 has been put together in a beautiful way but still makes you want to use it, get it mucky and coated in flour.. I am not the only one who ends up doing that am I ? Oh well, each of my cook books are well used and I am sure Leon will also soon become less pretty looking and more well used ! This way you know your making good use of a cook book, or so I think !
I spent all night flicking through the pages of this lovely cook book, reading all the little quirky and delightfully personal comments. Seeing the faces of John and Henry who wrote the book and having a sneaky peak into what they keep in their larder and also what they think the best things are to keep at hand in the kitchen. The book sucks you in and makes you feel like you are part of a family which has put this book together !

The book is split into two parts. The first is all about fast food that can be put together within 20 minutes or less, ideal for those with a busy day ! The second is focused on slow fast food, so you can prepare in advance and then quickly heat up when you needs to. Ideal for making a nice lunch to take to work and keep warm during these very cold days. Someone told me it is meant to snow tonight or on the morrow… I adore the snow, but I expect it will make it hard for me to get to work. .

As well as easy to make dishes there is lots of lists and helpful hints and tips. I liked the list of top 10 things to keep in your freezer as well the as ‘Grow your own’ section. If you have only a window box or a whole garden to use you will find all kinds of grow your own tips!
IMG_2099
Oh and of course there is wheat, dairy and gluten free recipes to make as well as vegetarian ones !
I will keep you up to date with what I make, I am really looking forward to trying a few things out this week.

A change of Saturday…

As soon as I got to the station I got a call from S, saying not many people had turned up so I didn’t have to go into work to do photos. This was quite nice as I was happy to have a day at home. So I had a quick look around town and then went home. I also seem to be getting a cold again, well a sore throat so I think it did me good to get back into the warm and do things round the house !
I made some cupcakes, however they were a little heavy. I have made them so many times but this time I didn’t really measure things so well…it was partly because of a lack of butter ! Oh well, they taste good and it is a lesson to learn for next time ! Silly me.

Dazed and Confused, it came through my door the other day so I finally had the chance to have a sit down and flick through the pages. This issue is a little 3d and you get a pair of glasses with it so you can enjoy it in all the 3d goodness it is offering. Anyway, I got didn’t have chance to look at it for long as I found myself writing out an idea I has for a project at work.

A train twice a day !

Huddersfield train station
I have been taking the same train everyday for a few months now. I always tend to get onto the section after first class, were there is room for bikes and big bags. I like to sit there because I know I will get a seat and not having that feeling of being burried alive that the other busy parts of the train give you. I can sit down, have my coffee/tea and read my book.
I get the train so early in the morning that it is not only be who is still half asleep. Each person has a tea or coffee in hand and are tip tapping away on an Iphone, Blackberry (other smartphones too), Ipads and laptops to get ready for the busy day ahead. Many then switch part way to their book and appear so content as they fade away into what they are reading, before the race out of the station and splitting in different directions.
I do the same….exactly the same.

I work in a charity and also like to help others…

I like to feature different charities on my blog now and then, I work in the third sector you can follow the twitter of where I work at : @clubhousec ! More about where I work another day though. I think that spreading the word about any campaigns or even just helping to raise awareness about what a charity does is really important !

The British Red Cross have a Life.Live it Campaign ! It is for those who are of the age of 16 or under – they want to make sure that anyone who falls into this age group knows how to cope in a crisis ! They basically think that every child should have the chance to learn first aid and this is something I really agree with !  You can find out a little more about it here if you are interested !

They are also running some competitions at the moment… one of them is ending on the tomorrow. it is a dance competition this month, the prize is a pair of tickets to The Dance Show at Birmingham’s NEC, Dancemania vouchers and a copy of Step Up 3D on DVD. For your chance to win just take part in the quiz on their facebook page

Follow them on Twitter
Find them on Facebook

I will be giving you updates about the competitions they are holding ( with a bit more notice next time ) !

What I really liked was that they have some fun tips on their blog which may be of interest to some of you.. or like me you may just pass the information on to your brothers, sisters , cousins and anyone else !

I like the blog about Rocking Out And Staying Safe ! – Safety at gigs..something we all forget when we get carried away making out way to the front of a gig !

Monday update..

Aussie
On one of the rainy cold days, before I left for Italy, I came home from work (in the rain of course) and there was a cheeky little package from DHL sitting on the chair in the hallway. I walked past it as I knew I hadn’t made any orders. Anyway whilst I was sitting infront of the fire sipping tea my dad brought the box in and told me to open it as the house looked messy. Cool. So that I did. How fantastic to find it was an amazing goodie box from Aussie !
It was filled with news of the next Aussie event which was a Take The Heat fireworks party ! I was very sad to not be able to go as I was going to be in Italy that weekend ! However.. you can head over to read about what Phoebe and Liloo had to say about the fun night they had with the Aussie team in Leeds !
Taken on my phone - for my blog www.prettygreentea.com

There was also some Take The Heat products…which my hair has been in need of.. so I shall let you know how I have been finding them. A delightful lavender heat bag – I always seem to sleep funny, I am sure you have heard be banging on about that a lot – So yes, the heat back has already been put to use and I adore it ! A hand warmer and hot chocolate nicely finished off the box off goodies !

If you went along to the Leeds event I would love to know all about it.

Italy

I need a little time to organise my photos from Italy, once I have done this I will write all about it ! I still have a day or two to write about in my travel diary.. I just didn’t have time towards the end of the holiday !
It has been all go since I got back. I have been editing a photos I did before I went away for Savvy.. actually.. you can see a sneaky peak of the shoot here.. and yes.. you can see me !

SAVVY PHOTOSHOOT / INTERVIEW from Saving Grace Music on Vimeo.

As well as that I have been busy at work, getting back to the gym and organising future trips ! It is all very exciting but this has sadly meant I have not had the chance to sit down and check over my Bloglovin – I think it has over 1000 posts for me to read at the moment !

I hope everyone is well and thank you for checking out my posts and hello to all you new readers !
