A little help from the Dr…

I can appreciate all kinds of music. In the morning I find myself getting reading to catchy 50′s and 60′s tunes, on the way to work I have my iPod on shuffle and tend to skip to any upbeat and lively song that comes my way ( lots of motivation for the day ), during work I can be found listening to flows via Mflow and then we have what I listen to at the gym and well…that is a totally different level.
What I am trying to get at is this, I would like to get myself some Beats by Dre headphones, I think it is time to upgrade from my iPod headphones and what better way to do it than with a little help from form the Dr.

If I was not so worried about a pair of the white Solo HD headphones being stolen from my head whilst floating through the middle of Manchester listening to Morrissey, then I would for sure be going for them. Or even the red ones, but that would just crank up the worry a few more notches.

So that rules out this very cool selection below.
Fragile dj looks pretty badass with his Beats By Dre, it was as soon as I spotted him in them that I knew for sure I needed some. All the positive love he has given them via twitter has helped too.

Maybe im not a DJ, but I still think I need a pair of these bad boys, so I am exploring the other options of the in-ear variety. However, another issue comes about, in-ear headphones always seem to break after a bit when I use them. It must be a common thing because you can buy insurance for your iPod ears and if they break in a year (which they always do ) then you just bob into the shop and pick up another pair.

Has anyone got any of the ibeats or tour headphones, I would really like to find out what you think of them.
Maybe I am being sucked into all this by the marketing, but I think some badass Beats By Dre  would go quite delightfully with my hair bows and floral dresses.

My top 5 websites of the week

Sometimes I find myself quite content when sipping cups of tea and reading articles from all over the internet. I like how reading one article will lead you to another and then another and by the time you have read maybe five you are already on a totally different topic form what you started reading. I think it is a fab way to keep up to date with what is going on around the world.

I also find Twitter a good way to keep up with what is going on, I follow lots of people who post links to  funny cartoons, delightful blogs, new music and a lot more. I tend to find myself saving lots of pages as i don’t always have time to check them out, but when it gets to the end of the day and I have a cuppa tea in my hand I spend some time reading all the links I have saved.

Underwater photography

Underwater photography has been playing on my mind for a while, I have always had a fascination with it but have only just started to research into it. One of my friends has been talking about doing their PADI training, this has taken me on my journey to finding some of the fantastic underwater photographers around the world. I will share a few of them with you over the next few days, today I am pointing you in the direction of Zena Holloway.

Zena Holloway is an underwater photographer and director.

Cleaning out my closet.

I have been back home home for the weekend, which has been lovely but very busy.

I am still here at the moment, sorting out my bedroom and all the things in it ready for the move. It really is a hard job getting rid of things and packing up boxes to keep and boxes to go to charity. It is always very refreshing though, it does make you think if you really need something or if someone else would benefit from it. It can be nice to take things of worth to the charity shop so that it can give someone else a bit of fun or put a smile on their face.

Packing for the move
A scarf or 10
A clear and empty desk = A fresh and clean start.

lovea sun care ..

Temp pictures as I can’t seem to upload my photos to Blogger at this moment in time…

I took this to Cannes, three of us were using it each day and I have lots left, so this means I need another holiday. I had no irritation from this sun cream, it felt lovely to put on and dried very quickly, none of that white leftover marks to be seen ! I must admit that I didn’t use a lot, just a small amount on my face and arms. I know I should use more than a light layer but my excuse is I am half Persian so I don’t burn ! It was however a delight to put on each morning, it smelt of limes and had an almost powder like feel to it once it had been applied. My two friends, Brant and Luca were also using it and both liked the smell of it and didn’t have any complaints about it !

Lovea Organic Sunscreen costs £12.99, this is a little more than I would normally pay for suncream. However now that I have used this I don’t think I would use anything else. It really did a fab job and my skin wasn’t irritated by it, so that was a bonus.

I don’t always buy after sun, but I am really glad I had a go with the Lovea organic after sun. I used this each days on my skin which had been exposed to the sun. It was lovely and hydrating for my stupidly dry skin. I think that £8.99 for the Lovea Organic after sun is ideal for this price.

The only sad part to this story is that a near enough full bottle of after sun opened up in my suitcase, went over my clothes and is of course empty now. I will be buying more of this from MyPure when I next go on holiday.

Oh, and in the supermarkets in Cannes I noticed that they sold Lovea organic suncreams and it seemed that was the only brand they had.

Sunshine come back

The weather here in Manchester is dull, unlike my visit to Cannes when the sun just didn’t stop doing his thing. The clouds just wont let his little face out here in Manchester, bit harsh don’t you think.
Clearly it is not me in the photo, or is it.

A Nature Valley snack

These Nature Valley bars are fantastic to pop into your bag for sudden moments of hunger and it saves on you splashing out on a snack or even on lunch in town. I have also found that on mornings I don’t have time for breakfast they do the job just fine !
You can find Nature Valley on Facebook  where they have a competition going on at the moment.

Health food junkies..

five a day
I have just been watching Health Food Junkies on 4oD – Watch it here  ! It is about people who eat only raw food, no dairy, no wheat and no cooked food at all. Why do they do this, because they believe that cooking your food gets rid of all the good bits and only raw food is the way you can get everything your body needs form it. The people in the programme are 100% devoted to what they do, they are called raw foodists and you can find out some more info here.

I am not sure if I could make such a big change in my life, for a start I would miss coffee. I think that people who can are fantastic and I also believe that once you make that step to changing the rest will come naturally and you wouldn’t miss what we class as ‘normal’ food.

Do you think you could make such a big lifestyle change?
Would you want to?

xx
