It feels like only a week ago I was saying ” No way is it July already ” and now it is August, almost anyway. I hope everyone has had a good month and is ready for August. Here is a list of blogs and websites I liked in July and also some thoughts for August. There will be a few photos from July too.
You may have noticed that on the left side of my blog I have had a list of blogs throughout July which I have been adding any blog which has stood out to me. Each month the list will be cleared and I will add any blog I am really enjoying as the month goes by. At the end of the month I will do a little feature showing you all who my favourite blogs were for that month.
My favourite blogs for July:
A Fine Day For Sailing – Blog
Delightfully Tacky – Blog
The Clothes Horse – Blog
I go bookmark crazy when I am researching and stepping my way around the internet, everything is orangised into special folders | Fashion | Photography | Jobs | Marketing methods | Blogs | Articles .. you get picture.
Interesting websites for July:
Fro Knows Photo – For lots of photo tips and tricks – Website
The Oatmeal – Comics, quizzes and stories - Website
I like to make a list of things that I am hoping to do each day/week and month. I thought I would share some of the things on my blog.
Plans for August:
Towards the end of the month I will be moving to the seaside.
I want to focus on applying for three jobs a week.
I will be putting more effort into looking for internships.
I want to find a few courses for September in things I haven’t thought of doing before.
I would also like to spend more time experimenting with make-up.
Colour for the month was: Orange and Yellow .. both for nails and clothes.
What do you have planned for August ?
What have been your fave blogs of July ?
Collection 2000 ‘Sherbet Lemons’ – Looks fantastic on, total pain to remove. So for that reason, I wouldn’t suggest buying this one. I will most likely be applying it to my poor nails again, because I do always try things twice, so I shall keep you updated.
Remember kids, always use a base coat.
Sipping green tea and reading The Language of Advertising by Angela Goddard. I have a few advertising books I am making my way through at the moment, do any of you have any good ones you can suggest to me?
The tea I am drinking is from Holland and Barrett, it is Green tea & Jasmine, it has a very light floral kick to it and is very good for detoxing and also I find it gives me energy and keeps me focused. Some people add a little sugar to their green tea, I think adding honey is a healthier option, but personally I do not find the need to add anything to it.
AW11 - For me AW11 is going to be all about block heels. Easy to walk in, less of a chance of falling in the rain and to make me a little taller. I am trying to cut down on wearing my Converse and Vans every day, I have lots of pretty shoes that just don’t get worn enough. So a plan of trying to wear a block heel every other day is a good start to becoming a little taller and a little smarter.
I am getting excited at planning ahead these days, AW11 clothing ides is just the start.
Oh, I know these ones are a little out of my price range, but I am on the hunt for a selection of chunky heels which will be kinder on the purse. I will of course keep you updated.
What do you think of block/chunky heels, do you prefer them to a thinner heel and will you be spotted in them when autumn falls? See what I did there?
I like that Chanel Rebelle
can be built up or down depending on the occasion you are wearing it in. I got this lipstick before I went to Cannes and haven’t worn it since I got back, but since finding it in one of the pockets of my bag I have not taken it off.
A lipstick like this can be applied in the morning and still leave a tint of red by the end of the day, if you are lazy like me that is. I spent quite some time looking for for the perfect shade of red, why I didn’t start with Chanel I don’t know.
This has been applied with one quick swipe, I usually put it on a little thicker than this, to give it much more of a ‘hello red lips‘ look.
I really like that this lipstick is really moisturising, I don’t even need to apply lip balm throughout the day when I use this.
Here are some pretty little numbers from the Orla Kiely Lookbook, I have picked these out of the SS2011 looks because I think that these can be easily transformed into something ideal for autumn/fall.
Simply add a pair of warm tights to each of these looks, pair up with a cute hat and your good to go.
This Topshop hat will go with almost anything, it is the kind of hat you could pop on each morning with without any worry, it will keep your hair safe from the wind and rain too.
