The wedge AW11

I am a big fan of the wedge, they are comfy and easy to walk in and look good all year round. I am thinking that some boot style wedges will be fantastic for AW11, they will go nicely with knee high socks to keep your legs extra warm and give (me) a little extra height. I am keeping my eye out for some unique wedges to go with floral and polka dot dresses. You can see the rest of my choices at Fashiolista and I am sure I will be adding to the the inspiration list of wedges.

Running and a healthy breakfast..

I have finally got back into running after three weeks of leaving my fantastic gym in Manchester. By ‘got back into running’ I mean that I went for a run this morning. It’s a start, I plan to go for another run this evening. As well as running I want to start skipping and go back to yoga.

What exercise do you do ?

After my run I made breakfast. It consisted of kiwi, yogurt, granola and I sprinkled some seeds and a little Manuka honey on top. I also had a huge cup of coffee.

Whilst having breakfast I made sure I was being productive and read quite a few articles, I will share a few I think you may like.

Why Marc Jacobs is the worlds most influential designer.

Kate Spade to launch in London.

Street “ART”.

Universities enrol for a marketing masterclass.

Reading by the sea.

IMG_2875
Here I am with my bag of books and empty coffee cup after a walk to the sea to sit and read. I am finishing off my Jonathan Ross book at the moment and then I will take it to the charity shop. I am trying to cut down on the amount of books I own and use the library more. I am enjoying the Wossy book, it is light hearted and very funny. In my bag I have a marketing book which I got from the library in Southwold and a Jeremy Clarkson book for a light hearted laugh after I have got through the marketing one.I shall give you more details on the three books once they have all been read.

How was your Tuesday ?

“Being a young woman, I wanna set the example that it’s possible..

..for us to own our own businesses and own our own record labels and sometimes we don’t reach for the stars. Sometimes we are satisfied with what people tell us we’re supposed to be satisfied with and I’m just not going for it.”
Quote from Year of 4 Documentary.
I really enjoyed watching Year of 4 a month or so back, it is full of inspiration and a sneaky look into the life of Beyonce, how hard she has worked and how she is decided to take a little time off. Visiting so many countries to perform does not mean that she has had the time to see what is around her, she is a workaholic after all. For me, I believe that is why she has been successful.
Yes, I know we could start getting into the whole illuminati thing (I mean when does the illuminati not crop up when one mentions Beyonce or JayZ) but lets not. Let’s enjoy an inspirational video from a very powerful and inspiring woman. She has had different experiences to many of us ( I have no interest to jump on stage and dance and sing, I simply would fail/fall) but her words and inspiration and motivation can be applied to any line of life. No matter what your goals are you can take a little something away from this video, I actually believe that there is inspiration all around us and in so many different forms.
I have been sharing lots of articles and videos which I have been watching over the past week. I hope some of you have found them interesting and I would love you to link me to anything you find inspiring and motivational. It can be anything, I will then share your ideas and links with the rest of my blog and link back to your blogs. I would be so happy to read and watch anything you lovely people share with me.
Oh and I don’t really pay much attention to gossip magazines or celebrity websites, but even I am in the knowledge that Beyonce is pregnant. I have a little feeling that this is going to be the part where Beyonce becomes even more of an inspiration to women all over the world and focuses more on spreading the love of inspiration.

Good luck B and JayZ and I hope all goes well with the pregnancy.

The ‘go to’ necklace..

IMG_2857
When I am not sure what to put on or need to grab something before running out of the front door this is my go to necklace. My mum got this necklace many moons ago, it was from M&S and cost a couple of pounds. It has lasted a long time and whenever I wear this it always gets compliments, it causes a lot of interest as people always want to know if I keep anything in the small envelope. I must admit that I do not, I once put a few pounds inside it but decided it was not the safest place for them.

Maybe I am over cautious.

A healthy lunch..

IMG_2851
IMG_2844
Today we all had sweetcorn for lunch, one each and no butter or salt needed. These were so sweet and tasty just on their own and so very healthy. I really recommend this as an alternative lunch or snack. make sure you try to get them from a local farmers shop, market or just the Arndale market init. Anywhere except the supermarket, these ones just taste so much better.
Do you like sweetcorn ?

The brogue AW11

Another update on my plans for AW11. I have a pair of brogues from Topshop which I got in the sale quite some months back. These pretty shoes have been waiting for their change to shine. I think it will be soon as summer coming to an end in the UK and autumn/fall is approaching. I like calling it fall actually, I can’t explain why. I expect it is because I am so used to calling it autumn and change is always good. I read many american blogs and find myself reading about “fall” quite often and sometimes it slips into my daily vocabulary. I don’t think many people have picked up on it, though if I said it when I am with friends who have no interest in fashion and only think that once it gets to September it means you must not forget your umbrella, then I am sure they would have something to say, actually they would just mock me. So, do you ever slip up and say Fall ? Do you like how it sounds ? Do some of you sometimes say Autumn ? Oh my, so many questions. It is good to mix things up a bit and let autumn and fall both get their time to shine.
Back to Brogues ? I think so yes. I made this list ( and many more ) over at Fashiolista. I would like to invest in some more brogues (once I get a job from all these application forms I am filling in) and they must be two toned. The ones I have are a lovely rich brown shade, I would really like some black and white ones actually.
I know this is the third list of my AW11 inspiration but I must say that I really am quite taken to Fashiolista and find it very easy to share with you. I usually am a little old fashioned and make scrapbooks about my plans for what I will be wearing next. I still do it so maybe I should share these on Prettygreentea as well.
Enjoy the bank holiday Monday, I will be catching up with my favourite blogs later on today and checking back at all you lovely people who have been commenting on my blog. I really am thankful to those of you who comment, it is nice to have other blogs to go and look and most of the time fall in love with and click the follow button via Bloglovin.

Things to do on a sunny Sunday

Be productive and embrace the sunshine.

Today I spent some time cutting up a bunch of old food magazines, you can see this one is from 2006, there is no need for it to be kept so long. So I went through the magazine and cut out the recipes i would one day like to make. This way I can save on space and not have 100′s of food magazines as well as fashion magazines knocking about the house.

IMG_2775
I made my mum a recipe book a few years back, there was room left over for her to add and stick in lots more. So once I had saved a few from the magazines I stuck them into the book I had made for her ( via a notebook from Paperchase) and we had a look through to pick some things out to make tomorrow.

After a productive morning cutting down on magazine and adding to the recipe book I decided to help around the garden. The sun was shining and I also have these fantastic gardening gloves which were sent to me by Nature Valley, I decided to put them to good use and give my mum and dad a little hand with making the garden look pretty.

I enjoyed spending time outside doing something I don’t usually do, it made a nice change despite having to dodge all the ladybirds again. I then went for a lovely walk with my mum, dad and sister down by the sea. We had a sneaky ice cream, which must be forgive as our walk was very long.

What did you all do on this lovely Sunday ?!
