My day – 30/31st October 2011

Here are some photos of the past two days, I am sorry they are all via instagram  but I have just got home and am ready to dive into bed.  I wore my new pink dress from Topshop, fox scarf from Next and used my Vivienne Westwood handbag. I also had my Next handbag and a variety of other clothes but these didn’t make it onto any of my iPhone photos, they may be on my camera though so I shall check tomorrow. I am reading another Paul Theroux book which I started on the train yesterday, I am really enjoying it as I always do with his books. My auntie P got this book for me a few years ago but with moving back and forth from uni it stayed in my selection of unread books. I always have lots of books to read but I am glad I left this one for a while because I can enjoy it now as it’s really fitting with my craving for travel.

I met some new people today which was very enjoyable, I think it’s always good to talk to as many people as you can and share experiences with each other. I find it really gives me motivation and inspiration to try new things in life. I enjoyed seeing my friend D who I haven’t seen since I left Manchester (we were in London for the same thing… which I can’t give details of yet….sorry), it was nice to be able to meet up, drink lots of coffee, explore a new city and meet new people together. I will look forward to seeing more of my Manchester friends when I am there in December, it really has been too long.

Pumpkin King..

IMG_1829

Halloween colour inspiration, pumpkins really make me feel happy when I see them and especially when they are knocking about in groups. I want to wear lots of orange this November, I have already been wearing it in October but I want to make the colours of Halloween last a little longer. As it stands I have no Halloween plans, not one party to go to….yet. This makes me quite sad as it’s my favourite time of the year. I do plane to watch some scary films on Monday night, depending on what time I arrive back from London. I am heading to London within the next hour and I can’t really give you much more detail than that. If you want to keep up with my travels then follow me over on Twitter: @prettygreentea !

This is Halloween….I will leave you with this… enjoy !

What are your plans for Halloween ?

Free Graze box..

I decided to order a free Graze box the other week, I can’t remember where I got the free code from but you can now order a free Graze box via my code. You can head over to the Graze website and enter this code:

The photographs show you what my box contained, there was also information on how healthy each snack was and everything it contained. I enjoyed rating items on the Graze website, this ensures you wont get anything you don’t like or anything you are allergic to. I liked how the box was personalised and very friendly and of course the food was yummy ! I used my boxes by popping them into my bag when I was going for a walk and I only had one a day. They were very handy and although I do think you could make your own Graze box ( especially if like me your house is full of olives, nuts and other tasty treats) having a surprise arriving to your door and trying out new snacks is something which you can’t arrange as easily for yourself. I actually forgot to cancel my weekly order from them and another arrived on Friday, which actually is very useful as I am heading to London tomorrow so will be popping some of the boxes into my bag. I will do a post of my second Graze box soon because I have been really pleased with it.

Have you had a Graze box before ?

Halloween nails for work…

Barry M : Black
and NYC : Lights Camera Glitter
Using a black and a sparkly nail varnish means you will end up with what you could call “evil fairy” nails, the thing with these black and sparkle nails is that they are work friendly. In some work places you may not be able to get away with orange, green or yellow designed nails but it should hopefully be ok to have sparkly black nails. This was just a quick post to give you some inspiration for Halloween nails and how to make them suitable for the work place and at the same time still getting into the Halloween fun.
The photos are from my Instagram.

Colour Inspiration

IMG_3933

IMG_3935
Here is some colour inspiration from some photos I took in September. I think yellow and green are  such happy and warm colours, not only do they give you a feeling of summer but they also change to a lovely deep shade during the autumn. I like the different shades of yellow and green and how they change through the seasons, I find they are the two colours (along with red and navy) which are always knocking about within my clothes. I am wearing darker shades of yellow and green at the moment, but I would like to embrace some very bright shades within my autumn wardrobe. I really like autumn, I enjoy  layers, deep and dark colours and keeping extra warm with a coffee to warm your hands. We don’t need to forget about summer though, even though it’s gone we can still enjoy the shades that went with it. Add a little summer into your outfits by wearing a bright fruity skirt or jumper and then team it up with the traditional autumnal shades of brown and deep reds
Today was a little warmer and a little less wet than the rest of the week, I didn’t even need to wear my coat, I must add that I was wearing a lovely warm jumper so I was still toasty and warm. I have so much to do this weekend but I am making sure that the blog is fully active and I hope you enjoy the posts I have ready for you all.

What do you have planned for the weekend !?
Do you try to keep some summer shades within your outfits in the autumn?!

Homemade Pizza

Making the base :

IMG_6079
Tonight my dad made pizza, he made it all fresh and it was very yummy. I need to help him make the dough next time so that I can learn and make it for my friends. My pizza had much less cheese than the other pizzas and only one kind (mozzarella) and I can honestly say I didn’t miss having lots of cheese on the pizza and my skin is very happy I didn’t ruin it by eating too much cheese. More healthy that way and it meant I got extra olives too. I had a tiny glass of wine with mine and have spent the rest of the evening sorting out internet related things, email, blogs and much more. I still have things I need to get done but all I want to do is jump into bed to finish my book and hopefully fall asleep.

Do you every make your own pizza at home ? It’s something I have always enjoyed doing ( mainly watching ) because it’s much more healthy and gives you lots of freedom to put anything you want onto the pizza.

I hope you are all well and had a lovely Thursday, what did you do today ?!

Finding confidence..

IMG_6011
I like to hide behind the lens, but I am trying to embrace the camera more often and step in front of the lens and capture a moment of myself. I am enjoying doing my ‘What I wore‘ posts and sharing my outfits with you, I think it will be quite a nice visual diary for myself to look back on. I have lots more outfits of the day/what I wore posts coming up and I just hope you enjoy them too.

I also wanted to mention that if you are like me and are a little camera shy or scared of what you look like then you should make a really big effort to embrace the camera. Take life head on and embrace all the opportunities it offers you, you never know what you may find a new love for, a new interest or even you may end up enjoying having a photo taken. I was quite annoyed a while back because from my past few holidays there was only a handful of photos of me, it’s nice to have photos of yourself to enjoy and remember the fun you had. So on my next holiday I am hoping there will be a few more photos of me. Don’t spend a year or so like I did hiding from the camera, jump infront of it and enjoy your life. Do it little by little and just peep round the lens or jump into the deep end and do a photo shoot with friends and share photos on your blog. Life is meant to be fun and we have the opportunity to document our lives via photos, film and writing… so go have fun and find your confidence.

Enjoy Thursday !

A fox in Lavenham ..

At the weekend I went to Cambridge and Lavenham, two very lovely places and I of course have many more photos to show you within in posts this week. This was someones door knocker in Lavenham, there were many more pretty houses in this tiny town, interesting door knockers, small shops, friendly cats and happy people.
You may remember me posting about Hannah Zakari the other day, I shared a lovely fox face brooch from her lovely shop. As soon as I spotted this door knocker It reminded me of the brooch and my fox scarf . I want to see if I can find some more lovely fox designs to add to my accessories or outfits, I think they make quite the statement to a simple outfit. I am actually craving other animal based prints at the moment. There are so many pheasants about where I live, I would like a pheasant print scarf,
has anyone seen one?!

Let your nails sparkle this winter

Morph suggested I show you the two new beauty products I picked up from the chemist. I am meant to be holding back on the spending as I am going away in December but both of these…maybe one of these is something I really needed. I got into the car when my dad picked me up after my busy day, I hadn’t touched up my make up because I am just too lazy and I was quite sad to see how washed out I looked. I as soon as I glanced into the mirror I new I needed to be wearing more make up and also purchase concealer. So after a quick stop at home to chuck on my fruit coloured outfit I waddled to town to go to the post office and chemist for a new concealer.

There wasn’t much choice as they only had Rimmel and NYC, I decided on the Stay Matte Rimmel Dual Action Concealer… what it exactly will do I am unsure but it has a green bit in the middle which I hope with help with covering the dark circles under my eyes. I have been told a few products which are good to use and I am sure I will try those out at some point, but for now this one will do. I am actually looking forward to trying it out in the morning. I think it was just under £6.00, I didn’t make note I am sorry. Has anyone else used it ?!

IMG_6038

There was a Rimmel nail varnish which was exactly the same as Lights-Camera-Glitter by NYC, I spotted the NYC just before I was about to pay and decided I would get this one and not the Rimmel one. It was 50p cheaper so I thought well why not try out this make, I have heard some good things about it and I don’t mind trying new brands. This was just under £2.00, I am going to try it out tonight. I am really into painting my nails a dark colour and then popping some glitter on top to soften it up a little.
What do you think of NYC products ? Have you used them before ?
