Reader Question: How many pairs of Converse do you have ?

Good morning everyone!
The coolest kid in town Isquisofrenia asked me how many pairs of chucks I have. Before I answer her question I want to tell you that she has a really fab blog you must check out. She has fantastic taste in music and pulls together the most badass outfits. This girl is rock and roll so go check out her blog!

I only have three pairs of Converse which is soon to be four with the arrival of a pair of bright yellow Converse at home (can’t wait to get back to try them on). I did have two other pairs but they have been chucked out because they just became too old and had been through too many festivals to be suitable to use in everyday life.

I am going to make a huge effort to embrace other kinds of shoes at the weekend, I obviously wear different shoes to work but I want to try and wear a heel at the weekend. I think I have just told a lie. I have some bright yellow Converse waiting to be worn in…!

As I am typing this I am on Spartoo looking at their Batman Converse and searching the internet for Vans Era 59 White and Tartan - If any of you know where I can find the Era 59s then please do tell me. I have found them in all kinds of colours but everywhere is sold out of the white and tartan. Office usually have a good selection of Vans but I had no luck this evening. I think they came out in 2010 so I know I am pushing it a bit. Also, I know I shouldn’t be asking you guys all the questions but where can I find a direct contact for Vans UK? I didn’t have any luck on the website.

Maybe I will have to share my ever growing collection of Vans with you soon.

My Sunday : What I wore : 26/02/12

What I wore

We had lovely weather here on Sunday, I even took my coat off it was that warm – I know I know! It’s true though, the sun was shining and Southwold beach was looking lovely. I was wearing black tights again because I was too lazy to dig out my collection of summer tights. I obviously went straight for wearing my red Converse because they are bright and comfy and I knew I was going for a long walk. I walked down the beach and across a field or two and I now fully have the craving for festivals. Are you going to any festivals this year? I can’t decide which to go to.

converse and skirt

This is my favourite skirt from Topshop, I have had it for such a long time now and it will be sticking around this summer too. I am thinking of getting my sister to make me a few skirts in the same style but with some interesting fabrics I have found over the past year or so and not done much with. Do any of you make your own clothes? I really wish I had the time to do it, but because my sister does it so well I have become lazy.

Southwold beach

It really could be summer couldn’t it! The sunshine actually gave me the motivation I needed to go running on Saturday and Sunday. I am not home during the week at the moment so haven’t been running but may see if there is a gym I can join on a monthly basis. I am enjoying the running more and more (kind of) and hope to keep going with it.

Dry Skin Care Essentials: Part 3

Hello everyone! Here is part 3 of my Dry Skin Care Essentials. These are products I have been using for a while and if I find new products which are good for dry skin then they will be added. Most of these products (with a few exceptions) wouldn’t be so good for people with oily skin as they are very thick creams. Products such as the eye cream, lip cream and the hydrating spray would be fine for all skin types.

Part 1 and Part 2.

IMG_7428

I first used the A’kin Hydrating Mist quite some time ago via Mypure and you can read what I thought of it here. Since then I have gone on to purchase a second bottle which has so far lasted me over 6 months. It’s not a product I need to use daily but something which I use when my skin is feeling extra dry. I find myself using it in the morning or after a shower to quickly hydrate my skin after the heat from the shower has drained it.

IMG_7978

The A’kin Hydrating Mist smells of rose petals, it’s not an overpowering scent but lovely and light. I have had no irritation to my skin during my time using this mist.

Price: £14.99 at Mypure : I think that £14.99 is a good price for a product which lasts a very long time and is going to help to keep your skin moisturised. I think that if you are a student / working part time then maybe this is a luxury product. What I mean by this is that spending your money on a a good moisturiser could be best. If you can afford to pay out for an extra product to help keep your skin lovely and fresh then I would say go for it, if it’s a struggle for you to afford then don’t do it. You can always just put extra face cream on.

I will continue to buy this each time it runs out, if you know of any other hydrating mists which will be good for sensitive skin as well as dry skin then please let me know.

The next product is one you will all know well and it is Carmex. I use a wide variety of lip balms and have 5 which I think are really fantastic. It just so happens that the one I was using whilst my skin was very bad was Carmex. I sometimes get cuts in the side of my lips if I have been having dairy so Carmex really helps to fix me. I am also a big fan of Blistex but haven’t used it in quite some time.
Price: It changes from £1 – £3 : As this is a product which works I am happy to pay a few pounds for it, I have a few local shops where it costs only £1 so I tend to head there. I personally don’t think that the other flavours/scents of Carmex as as good as the original which could be due to my skin being very sensitive.
The only downside to Carmex is that when the weather gets cold it goes hard and it’s a pain to use. When I was in Austria I actually couldn’t use it at all, so if you are going away somewhere cold then leave the Carmex at home.

Do you have any recommendations of good products for very dry skin?

Saturday 26/02/12

Hello everyone, this is a quick post to share some photos from a little walk I went on in the afternoon. I went to the shop and then decided to carry on down to the beach. I had already been for a walk in the morning but forgot my SD card so I couldn’t take any photos which was a bit of a pain. I got myself a new tripod this morning so I am looking forward to taking some outfit photos tomorrow. Oh I haven’t updated you on my running for a while and that’s because it hasn’t been happening due to being away for work. I did go for a run today which was good and I am going to go for one tomorrow morning.
I hope you all had a fab Saturday! I am stuck on Tumblr at the moment but hopefully I wont fall asleep too late and will be able to get up and go for my run in the morning. I am looking forward to work next week and am also going to be booking some tickets to London because I fancy a bit of shopping. If any of you fancy meeting for drinks or shopping then just let me know.

Summer dreams..

1   2   3   4   5
I have been dreaming about summer most of this week. Bright and pastel colours are not the only things I am excited for this summer. I am also ready for the festival season and have been browsing the different ones to try and decide which I should be going to. Are you going to any festivals? Festival season always means you have to make the right decision about which shoes to take with you.  The festival season for me means Converse and Hunters. Actually, my year is usually split equally by wearing Hunters, Vans and Converse so this isn’t really much of a change. My point is that when you go to festival in the summer sunshine there is nothing better than a pair of Converse with denim cut offs and a band tshirt (a band you know!). If it rains then pull on a pair of wellies and it will still be a fab and easy outfit. I blogged (here) about how I am most comfortable in a pair of Converse or Vans and have decided that I really must start adding more to my collection. I don’t own any high top trainers at the moment so I am thinking I will get the high top version of the american Converse you can see above.
You can even design your own converse which I think would be really fun to do. I am shockingly bad at making decision so I think it’s going to be quite some time till I decide what I want but when I do I will be sure to show you! Have you ever designed your own Converse? When I was at uni I used to get my friends to doodle on my kicks which was always fun! It’s best if you have a friend who can doodle very well and just let them create you something totally unique.
I am back home for the weekend and am looking forward to taking a walk down the beach with my camera. I am quite sleepy right now but I am going to spend a little time designing my own Converse and playing on Tumblr. I hope everyone is well and has something nice planned for the weekend. I will be sharing some outfit photos this weekend and maybe I will even have a Youtube video to upload for you.

Edit: Yo! I didn’t realise how cheesy the title of this post was! Sorry kids.

I Moustache You a Question..

IMG_7542
This is my fantastic new Kikichoo  bag and I don’t care if you think it’s ‘hipster‘ … to me it’s a bag and I love it! You may remember be talking about Kikichoo back in this post. I am so pleased I decided to treat myself to a new tote bag, it’s fantastic quality and arrived within a few days. I shall be doing an outfit post at the weekend with this bag included. Once I had put my order in with Kikchoo I decided to spend a little more time on Etsy and actually ended up ordering quite a few things. It can be very addictive this online shopping business, I go through stages where I don’t even think about buying things online to evenings where I will order lots of pretty things that take my fancy. I am hoping that once I am home tomorrow I will have a few more things to share with you.
Do you have a favourite Etsy shop?

Snow White Tea..

I had a lovely cup of Snow White tea the other day and also took a few photos of the process of making it. Why ? Why not! Snow White has a very soft taste and is almost silky. It’s a pleasure to drink this tea is a pleasure to drink, it also makes you feel very relaxed so I think this is one to enjoy whilst reading a book. I think that I will be adding Snow White to my tea list for next time I need to stock up. I am making more of an effort to not have milk in my tea and coffee at the moment. Soya milk doesn’t taste so good in tea but is fine in coffee and chai tea lattes. I have been drinking lots of herbal tea to try and avoid the temptation of drinking tea with milk, it’s hard because I love to start my day with a good cuppa regular tea.
Have you tried a new tea lately?

All black Vans

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good week so far. I am away from home again this week and don’t have my camera with me. I am thinking of doing some Youtube videos to upload and share on the blog, if any of you have any suggestions or tags you would like me to do then let me know. This post is all about my love for Vans and other types of low tops.
IMG_3467
The rain seems to be on hold at the moment which means I have been wearing my new all black Vans. They look delightfully clean in these photos but I went walking across fields in them so now they have bits of mud over them but this doesn’t bother me too much. Do you like your kicks to be clean and perfect or a little worn in? I personally enjoy wearing them when they are new but much prefer it once they have been out and about a few times. I am sure I will have told you about my White Converse which lasted me all through university, went to festivals, travelled around Europe and were my favourite pair of pumps for quite some time. They obviously ended up a very dark shade of grey as opposed to the brilliant iPod white they once were. I didn’t mind though, they held lots of history but it got to the point where they didn’t look socially acceptable and I got rid of them. I never let it get to the stage where they get holes in, Im not into getting wet feet in the rain. Nothing more horrible than wet socks!
IMG_3468
As much as I do really like Shoes other than trainers I think I will always be most happy in a pair of Vans or Converse. I like to wear heels to work or if I go out in the evening. Actually I have to say that I have had my best nights in flat shoes. That doesn’t mean I don’t like to buy heels and use them for half the night and then sneak a pair of flats out of my bag and enjoy the rest of the night in comfort.  Well, from this post I have once again shown my love for low top trainers.
My black and white well worn Vans.
I am actually on the hunt for the most fantastic pair of Vans I have seen in a while. You can see them here and if any of you know where I can find them then please tell me I think they are Vans Era 59.
