6 Gift ideas for Mother’s Day

This Sunday (6th March) is Mother’s Day. I love any excuse to celebrate a happy occasion, especially as I don’t live near my family at the moment. I’ve always enjoyed picking out a special treat for my mum each year or going out for coffee together. I like to do these things throughout the year of course, but I never miss Mother’s Day. I also like to send my grandma a card on Mother’s Day. Does anyone else do this?

I thought I’d share a few gift ideas with you today. These gifts would work throughout the year and for any member of your family or friends. I’ve picked out brands (including my own little shop) which I think always have a good selection of gifts throughout the year.

I personally like to go for practical gifts, an experience or something I know someone would love but wouldn’t buy themselves. I’m mindful to ensure I don’t buy items which will clutter someone’s home. We’re surrounded by fast fashion and it’s important to pick and choose wisely.

Mother's-Day-Ideas-6

Personalised Message Wooden Spoon | Teapot Necklace | Colour Changing Umbrella | Chocoholic Afternoon Tea for 2 at the Hilton Park Lane | Mint Rose Tea | Boden PJs |

First up in my list is something I think is both useful and personal. This wooden spoon can be personalised with a message of your choice. I love the idea of picking a funny saying, you know, one of those personal jokes that only the two of you would get. This is from Buyagift which is such a fantastic website. You can find a wide selection of personalised products, weekend breaks, spa days and many more fun experiences.

Next in line is something from my own shop. Cheeky, I know. Last year I picked out a selection of products from some of my favourite indie makers in the UK. I’m a huge fan of Onetenzeroseven and the teapot has got to be one of my favourite designs. The necklace is currently reduced to £8.95 in my shop along with free shipping.

Number 3 may seem a little silly at first but not when you live up north. My mum makes quite a few trips to the north to visit family and friends. I’m sure many of you will know that it’s good to have an umbrella to hand here, I always do. I’ve been longing to buy a few people one of these colour changing umbrellas for quite some time now. I think the design is simple yet pretty and who doesn’t love a rainbow?

I had to pick out an experience to share within this post, they’re one of the best gifts you can give and share with someone. I think that a day out, taking a course together or enjoying afternoon tea is a real treat and something you’ll always remember. I found the Chocoholic Afternoon Tea for 2 at the Hilton Park Lane in London over on Buyagift. I told you they have a fab selection of gift ideas. I love having a day out in London with my mum so to be able to take her for afternoon tea at an affordable price would be such fun. There are many different price points over on the site, so be sure to have a good look as there’s something for everyone.

I always think tea makes a good gift, unless the person you’re buying for isn’t a fan of tea. I really enjoy the blends from Chash Tea and Mint Rose tea is one I’m longing to try. I think Mint Rose would make a good gift, it’s a unique blend which I haven’t seen before.

My final pick for today’s post is a pair of Boden pjs. My mum, sister and I have a small collection of Boden pjs. I think my grandma does too, that’s 3 generations of Boden pyjama fans. I can assure you that the quality is very good, I’ve got 2 pairs which I’ve had since 2011, if not before. They still look good and are very comfortable.

Remember, there are no rules and of course, there is no need to spend penny. Sometimes a cup of tea and a good old chat will do.
