Western Inspired Suede Boots

I was going to save sharing these boots with you ’til I’d snapped a full outfit post. However, after seeing the love they got on Twitter and Instagram yesterday I thought it would be rude to keep them all to myself.

A couple of weeks back the team at JD Williams asked if I’d like to pick a few things from their site. I’d heard of the site before but never used it. I thought this would be a good time to try it out so I went ahead and picked out some lovely pieces for the upcoming colder months (you’ll see those within the next week).

Their selection of women’s boots really stood out to me and I found it hard to narrow it down to just one pair. I love wearing boots throughout the autumn and winter months. I doubt I’m alone in that, it’s pretty standard. I personally enjoy wearing boots because I like to wear a lot of skirts and dresses and a good pair of boots always pulls an outfit together with ease. I’m all for anything that will make getting dressed on a cold early morning a little easier.

Joe Browns Boots for autumn

It took me a little while to finalise my choice of boots down to these black ankle boots by Joe Browns. I normally go for a knee length pair of boots but as soon as they arrived I knew I’d made the right choice. I’m always drawn to western inspired boots and it’s been a while since I found a pair I really like. Although I’ve only had these boots for a couple of weeks they’ve quickly become a firm favourite to team up with my autumn dresses. I didn’t wish summer away but I can say that I’m glad the days are getting a little colder, are you?

The boots are easy to slip on and zip up. The zips are hidden away on the inside of the leg so they can’t be seen when you’re walking. I wear the boots with a pair of warm socks which only adds to the already comfortable boot. The heel is just right for me. Any higher and I wouldn’t be able to do all the walking I seem to clock up on my Fitbit each day.

I particularly like the detailing on the outside of the shoes. I always wear black tights so it helps to break up all the black. The boots also come in khaki if you fancy something a little different.

Initially I was worried that the boots would cut off my legs at the wrong height. However, they have a dip at the front of the leg which prevents that from happening and they’re very comfortable around the leg. I wear a size 5 and these fit perfectly. They’re a little loose around my leg but because I always wear socks with boots I haven’t had any problems with this.

If you’re looking for a pair of short boots to wear with dresses, skirts or skinny jeans throughout the colder months then you should check these out. Keep in mind that they’re suede so you won’t want to wear them in the rain and they will get dirty easily. But, if you take care of them and invest in something like a suede cleaner (the team over at Supreme Shoe Care always help me out with any shoe care problems) then I’m sure you’ll be fine. I’ve been wearing mine a lot and I am so happy with them.
