Cosy Sorel Boots and Shopbop Winter Picks

It’s official, we’re fully into autumn and there’s no turning back. Winter is well on the way and it’s time to transition from our autumn to winter outfits. That basically means it’s time for more layers. Think thermals, snow boots, rain boots, cosy warm jackets and of course, hats and scarves. Autumn and winter are my favourite times of the year for fashion. I love layering up my outfits, wearing thick socks with cosy boots and wrapping up warm. Who’s with me?

Today I wanted to give you a sneaky peek at my new Sorel boots. I’d been thinking about treating myself to a pair of Sorel boots for ages. I came close to buying a pair in Southwold last year but they didn’t have my size. I’ve now finally got a pair of their Cosy Carnival Booties and I am so pleased. I even managed to find a pair in my favourite autumnal colour, burgundy.

I often wear Hunters in the rain and snow and although they keep you totally dry and are very comfortable they don’t keep you warm. This is fine during the spring and summer but during the winter I need a little extra warmth, especially here in Sheffield. My other shoe alternatives are usually Converse or a fashion boot. Neither hold up too well in the rain and I’m determined not to ruin any of my Converse this year. I’m sure you’ve all been there, it starts out dry in the morning and then *surprise* rain and you’re stuck with wet feet for the rest of the day. So, this is why I finally decided to get myself a pair of Sorel boots from Shopbop (psst! they’re in the sale now – scroll down).

I’ll be sharing an in-depth review on how these beauties hold up in the rain, snow and ice. So far, I can tell you that they’re very comfortable with and without wooly socks. I tend to wear mine with tights and then an extra pair of socks because I wear dresses most of the time. They’re not at all heavy to wear which is nice as many winter boots can be chunky. These boots are stylish yet practical which means they’re ideal for countryside and city life.

I thought I’d tell you about these boots today because Shopbop have one of their fantastic sales on at the moment. You know the kind, the more you spend the more money you get knocked off. This sale comes at the best time of the year when you’re stocking up on winter staples and picking up gifts for friends and family. Why not combine the two? A pair of winter boots for you and a winter hat for your friend. You could even combine your purchases with a friend so you both get a bigger discount off the final price.

I always say this but Shopbop do have a fab collection of brands and their shipping is the best. They include custom charges and then if it’s cheaper they’ll refund the money back. It makes shopping with them a little too easy. Anything I order from them arrives in just a couple of days too. The sale ends on the 28th November so make sure you move quick. You can find all the details over on their site.

I’ve picked out some of my favourite items from the sale to give you a little insight into my winter essentials. I hope they give you some inspiration for potential gift ideas or to simply upgrade your own wardrobe. I much prefer to buy items I know I’m going to wear each year. I stick to the classics (most of the time) and go for quality over quantity.
