Gran Luchito Review

Luchito Goodies Prettygreentea

As soon as this little care package arrived from Luchito I put it to good use. Isn’t it a neat little package? Anything adorned with a chilli in place of a bow is a real winner in my books.

Luchito jars - delicious

The lovely team from Gran Luchito sent me a bunch of goodies to try out a while back and Phil and I loved them so much that we used them up very quickly. You may have seen me talking about them on Twitter and Instagram Stories but if not, here’s your chance to find out more about the delicious treats on offer from Gran Luchito.

We’ve both been fans of the brand for a couple of years now. I first discovered them in M&S. Valentine’s Day was coming up and I always like to buy Phil a selection of foodie treats to try out. I spotted the fantastic branding on the jar of the Smoked Mayo and popped it straight into my basket. It turned out to be a delicious mayo as well as fantastically branded. As expected, P loved it. We’ve been buying it on a regular basis ever since. Unfortunately I never managed to track down the other products from the range so we were delighted to get hold of the full Luchito collection to try out. I’ve since found out that you can buy a bundle of their products over on Amazon, they’re also stocked in ASDA and Ocado. We’re going to stock up again when payday rolls ’round – we need the full collection back in our cupboard.

I’ve had a good chance to experiment with the different products and have a couple of recipes to share with you during March. For now, I want to give you a brief overview of each of the products and how I’ve been using them. You can also pop over to the Luchito website and explore their recipes.

Luchito Party

chip n dip with Luchito

Let’s kick things off with the Smoked Chilli Mayo. Phil loves this stuff. It’s perfect for dipping your favourite tortilla chips into, adding onto homemade burgers or simply just dunking fries into. I don’t like regular mayo but it’s a different story with this. It has a real good chilli kick to it and a true smokey flavour.

Luchito Chilli Honey Glaze

The Chilli Honey glaze is delicious and you can really get creative with it. It’s sweet but not at all sickly and works very well on roasted veg, meat and in sandwiches. Because it’s a glaze it has a very sticky consistency. I like to heat up a little before using it just to make it more manageable. Be warned, it’s truly addictive.

Luchito Smoked Chilli Ketchup - prettygreentea

Mexican food evening

This Smoked Chilli Ketchup went down a treat. I think by now you’re probably aware that both Phil and I love everything that Gran Luchito have to offer. You can use this in exactly the same way that you use regular ketchup. The only difference is that this has a rich smokey flavour and a slight chilli kick. I really like spice so I think this could stand to be hotter but it won’t stop me from buying it. I simply add a sprinkle of chilli flakes on top if I fancy more spice.

Gran Luchito Smoked Chilli Paste

Quiona and Veg bean chilli

I really like that everything in the Luchito collection can be used in multiple ways. The Smoked Chilli Paste works really well in a bean chilli but is equally as good in a stir fry or on pulled pork (the recipe on the site is fab). I’ve also used it to jazz up sandwiches. It has a deep smokey flavour and a small dollop goes a long way.

Manomasa and Guac

Luchito Smoked Chilli Pickle

Finally we have Luchito’s Smoked Chilli Pickle. I’m pretty sure I’ve used it with everything. This is really sweet but also very zesty. We’ve been adding a dollop of this into our guacamole, sandwiches and veg fajitas. I love the zesty taste to it and to me, it tastes like a mojito pickle! I’m trying to cut down on sugar so it’s not something I’d use on a regular basis at the moment but it’s very much something I plan to repurchase and keep in my cupboard for special occasions.

Have you tried anything from the Gran Luchito range?
