Clarins Hydra Essential Silky Cream Review SPF 15

clarins cream

I’ve been using Clarins for years.

It was one of the first skincare brands my mum introduced me to (the other was Kiehl’s, which I still love) and it continues to hold a firm place in my daily skincare routine.

Over the years I’ve tried many of their skincare and make-up products and I have a few favourites which I always keep to hand. Think lip oils, hand cream and the best serum.

Today, I want to tell you about the Hydra-Essential Silky Face Cream with SPF 15. It’s one of my all-time favourite products from the Hydra Essential collection. It’s very similar to the Hydra-Quench range which I was loyal to for over 10 years. Does anyone else remember that? I believe they re-branded the range in the last year or so.

The Silky Face Cream is a dream to use. It’s perfect for those of us with dry and sensitive skin. I use it every morning throughout the summer months. It’s rich without being too heavy or greasy and has the added bonus of SPF15. I often use a tinted SPF but it’s nice to know there’s a little added protection with this cream.

As soon as I apply the cream after my morning shower it’s the best feeling. I instantly feel fresh and hydrated, it’s fantastic. There’s no greasy residue from the cream because it soaks straight into dry skin. Within a few minutes I’m ready to apply the rest of my make-up or if I’m keeping things simple I’ll just add a swipe of mascara and lipstick.

The cream has a soft and fresh scent which I really like. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is but it leans more towards clean and crisp over anything floral. I always feel so relaxed when I apply the cream. After using it for so long the scent has become familiar and calming.

I adore everything in the Hydra Essential range. I’m currently using the face cream, the Refreshing Hydration mask and the Quenching Bi-Phase serum. I’ll have to tell you more about those later this month.

Just FYI, I wasn’t sent this pot of cream. I actually shared a snap of it over on Instagram and when I realised I’d been using the cream for such a long time I thought it was a fab testament to the product. I’ve spent a lot of money with Clarins over the years because I know it works well for my skin. I know I’m not alone with my dry skin problems so I thought it was important to share this with you.

You can find the full range at Boots. If you pop into the shop the staff often give out samples so you can see how it works with your skin.
