I really do love the red post box. The one in the photo is not too far from where I live. There are a fair few in my home town. However I am yet to see one in Manchester and I have been here for a few years now. Maybe I have just missed them or maybe there is not as many in the city!?!
As I walked past this post box a few times the other day it got me thinking…
Imagine how many letters, cards, parcels and who knows what else has gone into one post box.
How many years worth of secrets and love letters haveย fallen through the mouth of the box.
How many different post men/women have collected letters to take them away to their destinations.
I expect this little post box has seen a lot in its time on this road. I think it holds a lot of history.

I love red post boxes
and red telephone boxes…a dying breed now, I fear…but imagine all the conversations and secrets they have heard?!
Your ponderings remind me of Postsecret.. And I LOVE postsecret. It’s so interesting to think about stuff like that.
