Dry Skin Care Essentials – Part 2

Hello everyone! This is part 2 of my Dry Skin Care Essentials series, you can read part 1 here and part 3 will be coming tomorrow. I hope some of you will find this useful and if not then I will be back with outfit posts later on in the week.

If you have been a follower of my blog for more than a few weeks then you will know I love trying out new hand creams. I have been using Comvita Anti-Ageing Nourishing Hand & Nail Cream c/o Mypure for the last two months and I can honestly say I have fallen in love with it. I didn’t choose the Comvita range because it’s anti-ageing but because it contains Manuka honey. I find that everything I have used with Manuka (like this)  in has been very good and this hand cream didn’t let me down. The Comvita hand cream is very thick which was fantastic for the shockingly dry skin I was suffering from. If you also suffer from very dry skin then this will be perfect for you but for those of you with normal/oily skin then I would suggest you only use this in the evening as you may find it too thick.

Price: £14.00 – I am happy to pay for products which I know work well. I will be repurchasing this as soon as it runs out but will also use it alongside other hand creams so that I am not having to pay out too often for an expensive hand cream. My skin is not as bad as it was last month so I have just been using the Comvita hand cream during the evening/before bed and then using a variety of different ones during the day.

The second product I want to recommend for looking after dry skin is Dream Cream by Lush. Dream Cream has be working very well for my skin which was a surprise to me because I have to be very careful when using Lush products because many of them are very scented. Dream Cream doesn’t have a strong scent but that is why it is so good for dry/sensitive skin. The consistency is very thick and really hydrates your skin. I have found that the Dream Cream helps to get rid of any patches of eczema I have on my legs and lasts all day without me having to use it again till late in the evening. This body cream is fab because you can use it as a hand cream or a body cream, but as the pot is quite big I have mainly been using this as a body cream.

Price: 10.75 – I think this is a fantastic price for the amount of product (240g) which comes in the pot. I will be repurchasing this once it runs out but I think it’s going to last me quite some time. I shall keep you informed with how long this pot of Dream Cream lasts.

If you have eczema then try cutting down or even totally cut out dairy products, it will really make a huge difference to your skin. I know it will be hard to cut cheese out of your life (it’s taken me a long time to do it) but it is totally worth it.

Message to cheese – I still love you even though we can’t be friends.
