Last weekend I celebrated my 27th birthday. I had a lovely time with friends and family and was pleased to welcome in another fresh chapter in my life.
Age doesn’t mean much to me. Although I’m now well into my late twenties, I don’t feel any different. I’ll carrying on pursuing my dreams and doing the things that make me happy.
I find it very sad when I hear people complaining about their age. Worrying that they’re getting older and having expectations of what they should have achieved by society’s standards. Seriously? Be happy that you’ve managed to reach whatever age you’re hitting. Be happy that you’re healthy, you can travel, work and do pretty much anything you want. You have many years ahead of you.
Some people don’t make it as far as you have, so make the most of you life.
Do you have an issueΒ with age?
xx

I agree!! I’m in my 30’s now & I feel just as young as I did when I was in my 20’s. My age never matters, I’ll be 35 this year & I could care less. I don’t look my age, I don’t feel my age & I still have a mass of things I’d like to do in life. I do find it said when we dwell on our age, like it’s so very old. My Nana lived just passed her 90’s, battled cancer again and again and diabetes and still said she felt like a young chick and went to play bingo, haha!! Because of her I look at age a lot differently and am very proud of every birthday I get, I wish we’d spend more time appreciating rather than worrying or complaining. Super post π x
Hey!
I totally agree. It’s so much more important to enjoy your life than worry it away. There are so many ways to keep fit, healthy and ensure we feel and look good that there is no excuse to complain about age. It’s just important to get out there and enjoy it while you can.
Your Nana sounds like brilliant inspiration. π
P.S. I hope your birthday was awesome π x
It was, thank you π x
Not at all. I love fresh flowers though :)!

Fresh flowers always brighten up a room. I don’t buy them often but should really make more of an effort to. x
I wish I could reach out and hug you! I feel exactly the same……It is s a privilege to be able to grow old. I forget how old I am. Once in a while I will meet some spiteful person that would like to remind me how old I am and what society expects of me and how far I am from those expectations. I don’t care though. Life doesn’t come with any guarantees and living for others or for the sake of ticking off things on a silly list of societies expectations is so far away from what I see as happiness for me. I look forward to getting old, I intend to misbehave my way into old age and enjoy every moment of it!
I agree. My grandma doesn’t relate her birthday to an age. It’s just another happy year of being healthy, having fun and doing things she enjoys.
It’s a shame that when we are at school the pressures to fit in with others and what society expects are such a huge issue to us. You spend the time living for others and it’s usually not ’til your twenties that you realise it doesn’t matter what others or society thinks.
Thanks for your comment – it’s nice to see others feel the same way. x
*slaps own wrist* I hit post before i got to scream………HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you π xx
Happy slightly belated birthday. I’m not sure I feel any different (a bit wiser maybe) but it’s society’s expectations of what I should have achieved by this point that get me, made worse when everyone around me is starting to hit those big milestones!
I believe that we get better as we get older. Belated Happy Birthday! Xx
A very belated Happy Birthday beautiful girl. I am so sorry for missing this. Hope it was a very special day and I wish for this to be the best year of your life so far.
lots of love
