Every now and then you need to stop. You need to take some time for yourself, away from the laptop and phone and just be. I’ve mentioned before how hard I find this, my work is a big part of my life. However, I have a tendency of taking on a little too much a few times throughout the year and as I haven’t had a proper break it’s starting to get to me. I find that getting away for a week can give you a fresh burst of energy and inspiration. I’m going to ensure that I factor in some time to travel into 2015.
This afternoon I made a big bowl of tomato soup and took an hour out of the day to just do nothing. Well, I was listening to a vlog but at least it wasn’t a business one!
I’m talking about taking time to rest and relax and yet I’m sitting in bed writing a blog post. Will I ever learn?

I spend too much on the computer sometimes (okay a lot of times) and I need to learn to step away too! I do just love being lazy and watching YouTube but whenever I do that I feel guilty… In my mind I’m thinking “I should be doing something… I should be working and trying to make some money not just laying here!” But I need to be lazy every now and then… Definitely need to learn how to balance it all!

Haha! It’s hard, because for us I guess computer time is also our unwind time as well as work time!
I find it’s useful to take up a hobby that requires concentration and doesn’t involve a screen – I’m crocheting a blanket at the mo, I try to work on it at least twice a week, just for some down time!
I would love to try doing that. It seems like a really good way to cut off.
Hard to find the balance, I know all too well. But blogging in your spare time doesn’t count right 🙂 Until you put the preasures on. New goal for ’15, sit down, turn off phone and read a book more often.

I’m with you on that one. Blogging doesn’t count but… it’s still laptop time!
