Strip Teas Review

The lovely folk over at StripTeas asked if I’d like to try out their 14 Day 3 Step Daily Teatox. I love trying new teas and as I’m currently working hard at the gym I thought these natural teas would be interesting to try.

The aim of the StripTeas Teatox is to boost your metabolism, eliminate bloating and cleanse your body of unwanted toxins. What’s even better is that these are all 100% natural herbal teas.

Before I get into my review I want to get the obvious out of the way. It’s important to have a healthy lifestyle; eat well, sleep well and gets lots of exercise. Being consistent with these things will help guide you to a healthy mind and body. These teas are to be used as part of a healthy, balanced diet.

You can check out this eating plan that StripTeas have put together. I didn’t use this as I generally have a pretty balanced diet and have been working very hard at the gym in the hope of losing weight and feeling more comfortable with myself.

The Morning Wake Up tea is said to boost your metabolism and help you to feel energised. I really enjoyed starting my day with this tea. It’s made of Chinese white tea, yerba mate, lemongrass, liquorice root, orange peel, ginseng, ginkgo, eucalyptus. I really like lemongrass so I was pleased to be able to clearly detect the taste of it. I think this blend of tea works well together to create a fresh tea which leaves you feeling ready to tackle the day ahead.

The Daytime Teatox tea comes in 3 flavours; original, vanilla and berry burst. I decided to go with the original. This is meant to be a fat burning tea. It’s made from Chinese oolong tea, fennel seeds, cinnamon, ginger, pu-erh black tea, schisandra berries and black peppercorns. I really enjoyed the tea although the fennel seeds are very strong. If you prefer something a little sweeter then I’d suggest going for the vanilla or berry burst teas. I found this very refreshing and easy to drink throughout the day (I used one teabag and topped it up throughout the day).

The Sleep Tight tea was probably one of my favourites. I always enjoy having a relaxing tea in the evening and this one did a good job. This tea consists of rooibos, ginger, ashwagandha root, chamomile, lemon balm, peppermint leaves, hawthorn, vanilla pieces, lavender and vanilla flavour. This tea is said to help with digestion and relieve stress. It has a smooth taste, is very easy to drink and leaves you with a calm feeling. I found that this tea really helped me to wind down and night and I’d also make more of a conscious effort to shut my laptop down early.

All the tea comes in pyramid bags, so you don’t need to worry about using loose leaves.

During the two weeks of trying out StripTeas I was drinking less breakfast tea and coffee. I actually managed to avoid coffee for most of the two weeks with just 1 cup at the weekends. I probably had one cup of breakfast tea most afternoons when my work slump hit. Due to this I found I was falling asleep much easier at night. I think the rooibos evening tea really helped with that.

Thank you to StripTeas for supplying me with their 14 Day 3 Step Daily Teatox. I’ve always been skeptical of these diet branded teas and thought they were pumped full of laxatives (some of them probably are). However, StripTeas use all natural ingredients and combine the appropriate herbs and spices to create a cleansing yet delicious set of teas. If you don’t normally drink herbal teas then this is a very good way of incorporating them into your diet.
