Lavera Exotic Body Wash and Body Lotion Review

Today I’m here to talk to you about a couple of products from the brand Lavera. Lavera is a natural skincare, make-up and hair care brand. The products are 100% free from synthetic perfumes, colourants and preservatives. You’ll also be pleased to know that they don’t test on animals. They sound pretty good don’t they?

Before we get into the products, let me tell you a little more about the company. The founder of the Lavera is Thomas Haase. Thomas suffered from a rare skin disorder when he was young and conventional cosmetic and medicinal creams just didn’t work. So, he developed an interest in alternative skin-care. Later in life he opened one of the first organic food shops in Germany and in the summer of 1975 Thomas made his first lip balm using just wool wax, beeswax and olive oil to tend to his sensitive skin. He then spent 10 years researching cosmetic development before founding Lavera in 1987 (the year I was born).

So, the two products I’ve been using over the last month are Lavera Exotic Body Wash and Body Lotion. I was very kindly sent these products as a sample. I’ve had such a good experience with the products that I thought I’d dedicate a whole post to them. I tend to do this when I’m talking about a brand which I really like and is new to me.

Let’s start with the body wash. The product is a gel consistency with a sweet yet soothing scent of vanilla and coconut. Don’t worry, it’s not a sickly scent. I’ve used this on a daily basis over the last month and have had no irritations to my skin. The product rubs into your skin easily and it leaves you smelling fresh and sweet after your shower. It’s a 200ml tube and even with 2 of us using it there’s still more than half left.

The body cream smells very similar to the body wash, just a tad sweeter. The product soaks into your skin fairly quickly but be sure to massage it in well. The cream is a thick consistency which makes it ideal for those of us with dry skin. I found the cream to be very hydrating and the scent sticks around for  couple of hours. I’ve been using this every morning during July.

I also really like the packing of these two tubes. I think they look very summery and remind me of being on a seaside holiday. Both tubes have strong clasp lids but are still easy enough to open and use.

A quick summary of Lavera products:

I’m a total convert to the Lavera brand and I can assure you that I’ll be buying this body wash and lotion again. However, I might try out one of the other scents next time, rose sounds lovely.
