Autumnal Outfit – Navy & Burgundy

wiwt

I hope you’re all having a good week. I’m a little behind with posts at the moment but I’ll be catching up over the next couple of days. I have some really fun posts coming up for Halloween (think Pumpkin Spiced Martinis) as well as lots of content for my House & Home category. Over the weekend I’ll be doing lots of video editing – I can’t wait. I hope you’re all having a productive week too.

Today I wanted to share an outfit I wore last weekend. It’s quick, simple and one of my favourites at the moment. I can throw it together for a walk in the park or for work. With a swift change of shoes (though I usually stick with converse) it can be dressed up for an evening out.

Every time autumn rolls ’round I find myself drawn to shades of navy and burgundy. I always mix things up a bit and try to embrace as many colour combos as possible but it’s safe to say that navy is a firm favourite of mine.

My coat is from Boden a couple of years ago. It was a Christmas gift from my parents and I get so much use out of it. Last year I was wearing it ’til May. I pulled it out of my wardrobe last week and have been all snug and toasty in it for the last week or so. It’s no longer in stock but I have pulled together some similar styles, there’s even one that looks like the coat Zooey Deschanel wore in Yes Man. I really rate the quality of Boden coats. I have a couple which I’ve been using for a few years now and last year I added one of their capes to my collection, I’ll have to get that out again actually.

Daisy Prettygreentea Beret

Throughout the year I love to wear hats. I have lots of different styles but at the moment I’m really into berets, some of the ones I’ve had since my university days. This little grey one is from ASOS, I think. I can’t quite remember as I’ve had it for ages but I’ve found some similar ones for you. I find a simple hat is a fun way to jazz up an outfit, hides a lazy hair day and of course, keeps you warm. It doesn’t seem to be cold enough for full on hat, scarf and gloves just yet but I’ve got mine all ready to go.

Sheffield Walk Berries

Mini Instaz Shot

These photos were snapped on a walk through Norfolk Park in Sheffield. I love getting outside with my camera at this time of the year, my Instax even made it along for the trip. I’m trying to think of a project to use my Instax films for. I haven’t come up with any specific ideas just yet so I’m simply using it document our weekends. Let me know if you have any fun ideas.

The dress I’m wearing is from For Love And Lemons. I picked it up a couple of years ago for when I attended the Blognix Retreat. See, every item of clothing holds memories. It was well under half price so I managed to grab it from ASOS for about £60. I didn’t know much about the brand previously but since realising what fantastic quality the dress is (I’ve worn it a lot!) I was keen to discover more about the biz. It was founded in 2011 by best friends Laura Hall and Gillian Rose Kern. Their aim behind the brand is to inspire confidence, femininity and individuality.

Converse Kicks

As always, I wore Converse for our walk. I can usually be found wearing Converse, Vans or boots. Phil wore his Converse wellies, which he’s loving at the moment. I had my cosy ones on, they’re all soft and snuggly on the inside. I picked these up when we went to Budapest back in 2015. They’re still going strong and are my go to Converse during the colder months. These are the exact same ones in black and Burgundy. I’m very tempted to get them in another colour.

Navy Coat Boden

My handbag is from Kate Spade, a brand I’ve been really into for the last couple of years. I always like their fun, quirky designs but this is one of their more classic bags. It’s a lovely colour and the handles are long enough to rest on your shoulder or in the nook of your arm. It’s quite a structured bag so it doesn’t get a heavy bottom which is always a bonus. Shopbop currently have some similar styles in stock.

If you fancy keeping up with my daily autumnal adventures pop over to Instagram and hit follow. I’m aiming to share more outfits over there and here on Prettygreentea. I’ll be back later today with a rather fun Halloween post.
