Homemade Ginger & Lemon Shots

I hope you’re all keeping well and safe.

I’m here to share a super quick juice recipe with you.

Earlier in the week I made a quick batch of our favourite Ginger & Lemon shots. I had some ginger that needing using up and making more of our favourite immune-boosting shots seemed like the best idea.

I documented the process over on IG so check out my highlights for that.

Tonight I thought I’d grab the photos from my phone and upload them as a blog post too. I mean, why not? They aren’t fancy photos, just general snaps of the process but they do the job. I think it’s about time we all stop over-thinking out content and just crack on and share it.

We got the taste for these shots when we first visited bJuice in Berlin. Ginger and lemon are both really good for you and combined they offer a VERY fiery shot of goodness. We like to have them with an orange wedge to balance out the sharp kick.

If you have a juicer they’re so easy to make.

Ingredients to make 6 ish shots:

1 piece of ginger the size of your hand

2 large lemons or 4 small ones.

Orange to slice and enjoy after your shot each morning

You can make a batch and keep it in the fridge all week. I’m not sure if they’ll last longer than that as I tend to do it on a week-by-week basis.

Fresh ginger and lemon

Method:

Take a chunk of ginger the size of your hard. Remove the skin and chop it up.

Then chop up 2 large lemons or 4 small ones. I like to remove the peel but if I don’t have time then I’ll chuck the whole lot in. The peel of lemons is high in vitamin c and right now, I’ll take as much of it as I can get.

Add everything to your juicer and then bottle your mix and pop it in the fridge.

Serve first thing in the morning with a wedge of orange to finish.
