Irresistible Me 8 in 1 Sapphire Curling Wand Review

I used to curl my hair a couple of times a week without fail but I became a little bored of my curling wand, got out of the habit and gave up. It’s been about a year since that happened and I know it was a pretty big mistake. My hair looks much better curled than straight as it shows off the different colours and helps to add bounce and volume.

After the girls at Irresistible Me showed me the magical ways of the 8 in 1 Sapphire Curling Wand* I quickly got back into the swing of curling my hair. What I particularly like about the Sapphire wand is that it comes with 8 interchangeable barrels. This means you never get bored of the curls and waves it has to offer, the styling opportunities are endless.

The case looks very neat and stores all your tools safely. It’s easy to transport as you can pop everything into the case, bob it into your bag and you’re good to go. I actually took it down to Cambridge whilst visiting my parents last week and considering it was packed with all 8 wands it didn’t add too much extra weight to my bag. If you have favourites you could always remove the other wands and travel super light. It’s safe to say that the Sapphire will be joining me on many future trips.

As you can probably see from the photos below, the tips of each barrel stays cool, meaning if you happen to touch it you won’t burn yourself and it also helps to keep your hair wrapped around the barrel with ease. I was also pleased to see that Irresistible Me have taken things a step further and included a glove to protect your fingers from getting burnt. It sounds silly but I’ve managed to burn myself on multiple occasions with various hair tools. I’m not alone with that, am I?

Just look at all these different wands, there really is something for everyone and any occasion. I’ve been using the 19mm and 25mm on a regular basis over the last couple of weeks. They work well with the length of my hair and offer big and relaxed curls, which I love.

In today’s post I’ll be using 19mm barrel but I plan on showing off the results of the other barrels in future posts and over on Instagram. It’s very easy to slot the barrel into place before turning the wand to the lock position which can be identified with the padlock symbol. To remove the barrel you should leave the wand to cool for five minutes then simply pull it out.

The wand heats up very quickly and in a matter of 20 seconds you can get started curling your hair for the day ahead. You only need to hold your hair in place for 10 seconds to get a tight and full curl or even less if you prefer the loose look, like me.

The wand is much more advanced than any I’ve personally used before. There’s a handy digital temperature display which allows you to keep an eye on how hot the wand is and then easily adjust the temperature if needed.

My mum gave me a hand with styling my hair for this post, but the wand is very easy to use yourself. It has a 360° swivel cord which prevents you from getting tangled up when you switch ’round to the other side of your head.

When I curl my hair I separate it into sections to keep things easy. Most of my hair goes into a top knot and I leave just a thin layer to curl. I then let down a little hair at a time to ensure I’m curling each bit of hair.

I’ve found that the curls tend to last for 2-3 days, I don’t use too much product in my hair though. For these photos I added a little Oribe Texturising Spray to my roots to give them a lift but didn’t bother with hairspray. If I add hairspray the curls hold a little longer, especially in the wind. I personally prefer a more relaxed look and without spray I’ve found that I get 2 days of curls which fall into soft waves.

I’m so happy to be back in the swing of curling my hair. I’m really impressed with the Sapphire Curling Wand, it gives me lots of options to create fresh new styles and it’s totally pulled me out of the hair rut I was stuck in. I think the wand is priced very fairly as you get so much for your money.

If you decide to treat yourself to the 8 in 1 Sapphire Curling Wand and aren’t in the US then you’ll need to use a plug adaptor. I already had a few knocking about but you can also find them over on Amazon. Finally, I think it’s important I tell you that this curling kit currently has $40 off at the moment as well as free international shipping for orders over $150. That’s pretty good if you ask me.
