At the start of every year I like to share a few of my goals and how I hope to achieve them. I find that setting a few solid goals at the start of every year really helps me to get focused and ready to hustle hard for the year ahead.
I also like to set a word for the year (I only started this as of last year). I decided that 2016 was going to be my year of focus. It went really well. I closed my shop and directed my attention towards Prettygreentea and Dairy Free Daisy. I’m really happy with the direction I’m now taking my business and I’m so pleased that I managed to find focus throughout 2016.
My word for 2017 is patience. Anything worth doing takes time. It takes hard work and time. To be able to reach your goals (whatever they may be) you need to have patience.
- Meet more creative people – I’ll be doing this by taking courses, joining a photography society, joining MeetUp, utilising my co-working space and hopefully, collaborating with people.
- Create more – I want to start by making the most out of the tools I have. I’m lucky to have a variety of cameras, lighting and a full Adobe suite so there’s really no excuse. I want to continue to learn as much as I can about photography, film and editing. I’m also open to trying out new ways to create content – After Effects has been on my list for a while so I hope to find the time to learn that this year. I mostly want to crave out my own style in photography and film.
- Optimise my health – My aim is to get to the gym 5 times throughout the week. If I take a pilates class or go running in the park I don’t mind if I miss a gym day. However the first couple of months will be to focus on cardio for weight loss. I’m ready to get fit and healthy during 2017 and ensure that it becomes part of my lifestyle. I’ll meal plan to ensure I’m eating well. I know, it sounds boring but it really does make a big difference and it also saves on time.
What are your goals for 2017?

I’m starting a photography course on January 21st. It’s very basic but that’s what I need, and after that I can take another one, but I wanted to start from the basics. It’s only 5 weeks long, on saturdays, but the classes are 4 hours long, so it’s exactly what I needed. And that is one of my resolutions/goals of 2017. I’m still working on the others…
How’s your course going? I’d love to go to a photography class too, I just haven’t found any near me.
I’ve just realised that I responded to this through WordPress and it hasn’t shown up within the blog.I’m very confused. As soon as I realised this had happened with my comments I thought of you. You left me some really thoughtful messages and my responses never arrived. How did your course go? Did you enjoy it?
