The Polka Dot Dress AW11

The polka dot dress will be my choice for an evening occasion along side a chunky heel and a 60’s style coat, in a block colour of course. Not only am I thinking of the polka dot dress for an evening situation, I also plan on wearing it as part of a casual weekend outfit and (if I get a job) part of my work wardrobe. You can still keep it fun and colourful over autumn and I think polka dots are a nice way of going about it, they are also very versatile and adaptable to different situations and events. I can imagine having a black dress with white spots at work, then quickly changing black shoes to red shoes and a swipe of red lipstick and it is all go for after work drinks and fantastic food.
Of course it doesn’t have to just be a polka dot dress, keep it simple and add hair slides or bags to your outfit. I shared the polka dot hair slides I got with you a little while back. I haven’t worn them yet but will keep you updated with what I pair them up with, you may not even care but I will be sharing this information on Prettygreentea anyway.
Here is a little Diane Von Furstenberg inspiration for you from her fall 2011 runway. Some cheeky bigger than usual polka dots and a shot of colour, she has done it perfectly… as she always does.
