Random Acts of Kindess Week – Support Small Biz

I just wanted to pop on and share a quick post with you this evening. Yesterday I discovered that it’s Random Acts of Kindness Week, were you aware of it? I’m always ready to get behind anything that spreads happiness and positivity so I thought I’d let you know about it.

It was actually the lovely folk over at Instantprint who gave me a nudge about RAK week. They launched a free Compliment Generator on their website, offering people the opportunity to send a compliment slip to a business owner who they think deserves some positive reinforcement for all the hard work that they do. If like me, you’re self-employed or a freelancer then you’ll know that it’s nice when people tell you how proud they are or how well you’ve been doing. It’s easy to work late, hit deadlines and never hear a ‘thank you’ or ‘great job’ so this is your chance to spread the love.

If you’ve been reading Prettygreentea for a while or follow me over on Twitter or Facebook then you may have come across my #BehindTheBiz interview series. This is where I discover small and growing businesses, the people behind them and their business journey. I’ve spoke to the founders of Ugly Drinks, We Are Tea, Sidekick PR, Sir Robin of Locksley Gin and many more hard working business owners.

I’ve used Instantprint on multiple occasions, especially back when they were a small start-up in 2009. They’ve grown quickly and I’m so pleased to see them getting involved with Random Act of Kindness Week and spreading positivity within the business world.

The Compliment Generator is free to use. Simply nominate your chosen business owner, fill in the details and then hit send. It’s really that easy. Instantprint will then put together a random compliment and distribute it to your chosen biz owner. I think it’s a fun idea and it takes just a couple of seconds to do. I’ve already filled in the details of a couple of my fave business pals and I hope it puts a smile on their face. Make sure you do the same.

Instantprint also recently set up a Start-Up Hub filled with lots of useful info to educate and encourage new businesses. There’s some really good content on the site so if you’re into biz I think you’ll enjoy it. I’m about to hit publish on this post, make a cuppa and have a read through a few more of the articles.
