The Best Things To Do In London Throughout The Festive Season

I LOVE London.

It’s one of my favourite places to visit. Within the next few years, we hope to be able to move a little closer, perhaps a 40-minute train ride away. That or we’d like to move to Canada. Let’s see which happens first.

Anyway, let’s get back on track.

Today I’m sharing a bunch of fun things that are going on in London throughout November and December. Some of these things happen every year and some are my personal favourites.

London Christmas Tree Lights

Let’s dive into the list:

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland – 23rd November 2018 – 6th January 2019

I have to mention winter Wonderland. It wouldn’t be the run-up to Christmas without a walk around the German-inspired markets. A cup of mulled wine in one hand and a bratwurst in the other and you’re good to go.

Entrance is free but you can grab tickets for the other attractions.

The Enchanted Woodland – 9th November – 25th November

Wrap up warm and get ready to explore Syon Park’s, Enchanted Woodland. I personally adore the sound of this. It actually reminds me of the Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in Vancouver that I mentioned in my recent festive bucket list

All around the lake and arboretum of Syon House is an illuminated trail which then ends at the Great Conservatory. There are lots of fun photo opportunities for keen photographers, interactive light instalments and more.

It’s best to book tickets in advance.

Go to the theatre and watch Witness for the Prosecution

I love finding good prices on theatre tickets. It’s probably the only time I actually get around to going and seeing a show. Earlier this week Discount London told me about their fab deal on Witness for the Prosecution.

“Step inside the magnificent surroundings of London County Hall and experience the intensity and drama of Agatha Christie’s gripping story of justice, passion and betrayal in a unique courtroom setting.”

This sounds right up my street. I might see if L fancies going to see it.

It’s on at London County Hall which is on London’s Southbank. You can find out more over on their site.

Sip on hot chocolate at Venchi, Covent Garden

The cutest little Italian spot in Covent Garden. It’s the place to go for authentic Italian artisan gelato, chocolates and of course, rich hot chocolate.

Skate at Somerset House or watch everyone else skating – 14th November – 13th January

There are so many stunning places around London to go ice skating. One of my favourites has got to be Somerset House, especially in the evening. It’s just the perfect backdrop.

Every year we seem to end up stopping by Somerset House and watching the ice skating. We haven’t been organised in advance in recent years to book tickets to skate and this year I’m pregnant so I won’t be venturing out onto the ice. However, I really hope to go next year.

You can book tickets directly through their website.

Enjoy a festive afternoon tea – A fab gift idea for a friend or just treat yourself

The festive afternoon tea at One Aldwych sounds delightful. They give their traditional afternoon tea a fun and festive twist from 19th Nov to 31 Dec.

Think gingerbread and white chocolate cake pops, cinnamon glazed brioche, golden eggs and much more.

Thanks to Discount London for working with me on today’s post. I’m all about sharing the things I love here on PGT and hope that you enjoyed today’s post.
