I thought I’d drop in today and talk about trainers. On a day to day basis I tend to wear Converse and Vans but when it comes to working out I need something that will provide good support for my ankles. I believe it was last summer when my personal trainer told me to invest in some new trainers. It’s not very good that it’s taken 5 months for me to take that advice on board. At least I’m finally getting ’round to doing it.

The last time I purchased new trainers was when I was living in Norwich, around 2/3 years ago. I use my trainers every other day at the gym and have done for the last few years. It’s safe to say that my trainers are well worn and it’s very much time to treat myself to a new pair.

I want to get some trainers that will be good for running. I already have some which I use in classes (similar to Nike Free 5.0). This time ’round I want to go for something bright and colourful. I think having good quality and fun workout clothes/trainers really helps to give me a boost of motivation.

I’ve picked out 5 pairs which I really like, the first are the Nike Free 5.0 in blue and mint. I love the way these look but after a little research it seems that they will be similar to the ones I have. They’re more suited towards class workouts so I’ll be keeping those in mind for later in the year. Next are the ASICS Gel Cumulus which are famed for supporting your feet when you run. I’ve never owned a pair of ASICS but they seem to be the brand to go for when it comes to running. The third pair I picked out are the Nike New Balance W1500, I particularly like how these look and they’re meant to be lightweight and ideal for running on varying terrains. The fourth pair of trainers on my wishlist are the Nike Air Zoom, as with many new styles from Nike these can be customised in terms of colour combination. Finally we have the Adidas Boston Boost, a lightweight trainer which I’ve seen positive reviews of all over the internet.

I’ll report back towards the end of next week to share my decision and purchase.

Which do you like best? I pretty sure I’ll go for the bright pink ASICS.
