May Wishlist – Styling around ankle boots

Ever since I started wearing these booties last weekend I’ve known that the upcoming months are going to be all about ankle boots. I find that boots give me a little extra height and they can make an outfit look smarter. They also support my feet well which is something I need to do after spending years wearing too many flat shoes. I spent ages browsing all the cute boots on Daniel Footwear, they have a fab selection. I ended up falling for these grey ankle boots by Hudson. Hopefully I’ll be able to add these grey ones to my shoe collection during May. I’m keen to try the boots from Hudson, my friends over at Supreme Shoe Care are always telling me that they’re such good quality.

I like the idea of wearing western and biker style boots with soft pastel dresses. As we are well into spring (although the weather suggests otherwise) there are lots of pretty dresses around. I’ve always liked the dresses from Free People, especially for spring and summer. This blue I Think I Love You dress is exactly what I’m looking for, especially as it has long sleeves. I think this type of outfit would work even better with the addition of a leather jacket.

The black Jamie jeans from Topshop are my go to style. I don’t wear jeans often but when I do these are my favourite. To go with the jeans I do love a good stripe top. I have quite a few already but this one is from People Tree with a sweet little heart on caught my eye. People Tree are an ethical fashion brand which you should all explore more.

The blue stripe scarf is also from People Tree and I can image this being very handy to have for my upcoming holiday in Crete. A good scarf adds layers to an outfit and can shade you from intense sunshine or keep you a little warmer on a summer evening.

Finally, to pull both outfits from my wishlist together I couldn’t resist adding this cute Cambridge Satchel Cloud bag. It’s dainty yet still nods to the classic Cambridge satchel. As I mentioned over on Facebook, I’m very inspired by blue and white at the moment.

I’ll also be able to wear outfits like this with my white Converse high-tops. My plan for the months ahead is to switch out my shoes on a regular basis. It’s the best way to make your shoes last longer and to also take care of your feet.

What types of outfits do you plan to wear throughout May?
