Oslo Kaffebar Berlin

Berlin Oslo KaffeeBar Berlin Sign

During my recent trip to Berlin I visited Oslo Kaffebar (Eichendorffstraße 13, 10115). It was a crisp morning but the sun was shining bright so Phil and I headed to meet S for a morning coffee.

Oslo Kaffebar opened up in 2012 and is still going strong today. They serve up a quality selection of coffee and I was delighted to find that they had several types of milk alternatives available. This made a nice change, many of the coffee shops I’d visited in Berlin mostly stocked regular milk and only soya milk as an alternative.

I went to order an almond milk flat white, but it was suggested that I try my flat white with oat milk and it was a very good idea indeed. I really like being given suggestions of what to have when I’m visiting coffee shops and restaurants. The staff here were particularly helpful and friendly. Just FYI, I tried to make my order in German but the staff all spoke very very good English – something you’ll notice all over Germany.

Their main focus is to offer quality coffee but they do offer a small, but good selection of cakes. We tried out a few of the cakes and pastries as we hadn’t had any breakfast. P and S went for a banana cake with walnuts it. I obviously tried a little and it was really good – the nuts gave the moist cake a good crunch.

Oslo Kaffebar has a lovely atmosphere. It’s very relaxed and calm inside but also offers a bench to sit outside of the shop. There are people working away on their laptops, people chatting and others simply relaxing with a book. I also noticed a lot of customers popping in and taking their coffee to go. They also seemed to chat with the staff a lot, I imagine they were regulars. I wouldn’t mind having Oslo Kaffebar as a regular of mine – maybe they’ll open one up in Cambridge one day.

The wooden interior gives the shop a cosy feeling. Just look at all those pain au chocolat or are they sloths?

So, if you’re looking for a coffee shop in Berlin that serves the best coffee as well as a good selection of dairy free milk alternatives then you must visit Oslo Kaffebar.
