February Picks

Each month I like to have a browse at the new items in my favourite shops and keep track of anything that has stood out to me within blogs and magazines. This time ’round I thought I’d share my finds with you, like I do with my Ikea Picks.

If there’s something that really stands out to me then I’ll decide if I really need it, or if I’m better to invest that money back into my business. I know that sounds very boring but this year I’m focused on seeing how far I can take my various businesses and hopefully it will all be worth it in the long run. Anyway, enough of that sensible talk, here are some of my favourite finds for the month ahead.

First up is this sweet Ribbon Tweed skirt from Warehouse. I like the mix of blue, pink and yellow, it’s sure to brighten up the cold mornings we’ve been having. I also really like the zip detailing on the pockets, Warehouse always seem to make good use of an exposed zip.

Next we have these Cecile pointed flats from Jigsaw. I’ve had various pairs of silver flats over the years and they’ve always come in handy for parties or to pull together a simple outfit. I’ve seen this pair in the shop and they’re made of lovely soft leather. I think they look very elegant on and aren’t totally flat.

This small clutch from Whistles is beautiful and soft and also comes in black and navy. I’m drawn to the pink one because I like bringing pastels into my outfits whenever I can. I’m trying to get into the habit of carrying less things (which is actually very difficult) so I’m set on adding a clutch to my handbag collection this year.

It was hard to narrow down all the new make-up that’s about to one item but I think I picked well. This is the Les 4 ombres eyeshadow quad in Tisse Paris from the Chanel spring collection. It’s a handy little compact with a soft and darker pink, a frosty white and a dark grey. I personally think the colours work very well together for both day and night looks.

The new Brompton bed linen from The White Company is just, well, perfect. Crisp white bedding with a navy trim is probably one of my favourite combinations. I think a few extra soft pink pillows on top would work well.

I’m longing to try Hazelnut Butter by Meridian from Ocado. They don’t have it in any of my local shops so I’m probably going to order it online soon. If you haven’t tried anything from the Meridian collection before then you really must change that. They do a good peanut butter and also a cashew butter which works well in smoothies and on a slice of toast.

Finally, the last thing I’ve got my eye on at the moment is Deliciously Ella by Ella Woodward. I’ve been a fan of her blog for ages and have spent the last few months making all the meals within her app. The book contains 100 new sugar-free, gluten-free and diary-free recipes. Just by using her app I’ve added lots more plant-based dishes into my meal plans.

What have you got your eye on this month?

Also, if you’d like to see a post like this once a month then please let me know. I enjoyed putting it together and hope some of you will find it interesting and useful.
