An evening walk on Southwold beach

IMG_3908 IMG_3911 IMG_3912 IMG_3913 IMG_3918 IMG_3919

We all have those moments where we are almost at breaking point and we need to take a few steps back and figure out the right path to go down. When I find myself at moments like this I like to go walking down by the sea in the evening. Everyone has their own escapes, some like to play video games, others like to read and some like to sink a bottle of whiskey and dance the night away. Whatever it is you like to do to cut off from worries then you must make sure you do it often because otherwise it can all get too much and the results are not pretty.

I find that walking by the sea helps me clear my mind but also gives me the time and space to focus on what I really want from life and how I can get rid of the worries and problem areas. If any of you have negative aspects in your life right now then I wrote a post about changing negatives to positives which you can read here. I am going to be making a few lists (like I suggest in my change post) to try and get my priorities in order and then I will be reading my new copy of Like a Virgin by Richard Branson for some inspiration.

What will you be doing with your Friday evening?

I am still loving – the Radius toothbrush

Benefits of using a Radius toothbrush:

1) Ergonomic handles are easy to grip and distribute pressure lightly and evenly over the gums. They also encourage brushing at the 45 degree angle recommended by dentists.

2) Radius brushes have up to 300% more bristles than a regular toothbrush.

3) The bristles are much softer & finer and they reach further down into the gap between the teeth & gums.

4) The wide head brushes teeth and massages gums at the same time.

5) Radius bristles do not absorb water and they last up to 3 times longer as a result. Radius brushes need to be replaced every 9 months instead of 3!

I promise that the brush is fine to use and don’t worry about the fact that the toothbrush looks much bigger than normal ones, once you start using the brush you will quickly become used to it. I doubt I will ever go back to using a ‘normal’ toothbrush because my teeth feel much cleaner when I use this.

It is suggested that you change your toothbrush every 3 months, I actually thought it was between 5 and 6 months and Radius recommend 9 months if you use them. I have changed mine after 8 months as I felt I needed a fresh toothbrush.  Over the last 9 months I have been using a Radius toothbrush and I love them so much that at Christmas I got my parents one each as part of their presents. They didn’t seem so excited at first but they have all been really pleased with them and are now enjoying the Radius way of life.
I did a review on the Radius toothbrush back in September but I wanted to check in with you all to let you know how much I am still enjoying the Radius range of toothbrushes. I always think it’s good to keep everyone updated with any future purchases I make of things I try out and I like it when other bloggers do this. For regular updates on products I am using then follow me on instagram – prettygreentea and be sure to leave me a message so I can follow you back.

You can buy the Radius brush at MyPure

Graffiti Chucks at Free People

As much as I try to find myself a pair of sandals I am drawn straight to the Converse. This pair of Graffiti Chucks stood out to me because they look very easy to DIY at home, I think this could be a fun project for the weekend. You can pick up a pair of Graffiti Chucks at Free People. Each pair will have a slight difference to them because they are all spray painted by Katie Heart in NY.
Would you prefer to DIY a pair of these or treat yourself to a ready designed pair? To be fair they do look quite fantastic and there was no mess involved but if I decide to do my own pair I will be sure to show you.

My final review of Couleur Pourpre flats

I promise that this will be the last time I mention my beautiful Couleur Pourpre shoes (which are in the sale) apart from when they show up in outfit posts. I have finally been able to wear these flats further than my garden wall. As we have had a little bit of nice weather over the past few days I decided I would let myself wear these shoes to work and see how I got on with them.

I got quite a few comments about how pretty these shoes were (which they really are) so in that sense they went down very well. The only thing I was worried about with these shoes was that they would simply be too flat and I am sad to say they really are. I wore them in the office but decided I would change my shoes when I left the building because I really didn’t want to ruin them. I think that if you had to walk quite far then these beautiful little shoes could hurt your feet because of how flat they are. Some people cope very well in flat shoes and others can cope well with sky high heels. My feet are much happier somewhere between flats and heels, think Vagabond flatforms.

I will still be wearing my pretty flats but just in the office, this way they wont get ruined quickly and I can still enjoy wearing them with my work outfits.

Do you ever find that some flat shoes are just too flat?

Bourjois 1 second nail varnish

I am sticking with my thoughts from my post the other day about not worrying about the camera you are using. I took this photo with my iPhone and felt that it had captured the colour and glitter of this nail varnish well. If you have seen Bourjois 1 second nail varnish in the shop then you will know that the rainbow sparkles within it are beautiful. You need a good two layers to get a good coating of pink and glitter on your nails but I also think this looks good layered over purple and pinks. This nail varnish took around a minute to dry on each nail, it did seem quite quick. This nail varnish is meant to have a gel texture to it which I think it did and that meant it stayed on for the majority of the working week with one little top up on Friday morning. The bottle also states that the brush has a fab effect, I didn’t know this before buying it but as soon as I started to paint my nails I noticed that the brush gave an even coat to each nail.

You will see the nail varnish in action in an outfit post at the weekend.
Have you used Bourjois 1 second nail varnish before?

Liberty London for Dr.Martens

There has been quite a few collaborations knocking about in the shoe department lately. I have been considering a pair of Dr Martens for quite some time and I am now finding myself drawn towards the  Liberty London range.
The 7 Eye Evan is a soft and light canvas boot which is more casual and less chunky than the usual Docs you see. The worry I have had with buying a classic pair is that I am a little on the short side and I have been thinking that the canvas style could be a little softer on me.. Even though the worry of the chunky style is still there I do really like the Flower Liberty Print 8 hole boots. I think the print is beautiful and very fun for summer (if it ever arrives) and I can picture wearing these boots with a white dress.
What do you think of Liberty London for Dr.Martens?

A little look inside my bedroom

Bedroom
I took part in an interview with Layezee the other week, they asked me a few questions about fashion, photography and my bedroom for their new Best of British Bedrooms competition. If you fancy the chance of winning a £100 gift voucher from one of 4 high-street or online shops then head over the their Facebook or Twitter page and get involved with the Best of British Bedrooms competition.
What is your favourite item in your bedroom? I think my favourite item in my room would be my desk, I spend much of my time sitting at it and typing away on my laptop.

Norwich rain

This is a photo I snapped on my iPhone whilst I was trying to shelter from the rain in Norwich. I think it’s always good to have a camera in your bag and it really doesn’t matter what kind it is just so long as you can capture a moment. I have been carrying around a Ricoh film camera which I borrowed from my grandma, I have a black and white film in it and have really been enjoying using it. It’s quite a heavy camera so as I have had that in my bag I have just been taking my iPhone camera and my Fujifilm in my bag and leaving my 7D at home during the week.
People sometimes forget that you don’t have to have the best camera equipment to take photographs. Make use of what you have to hand and enjoy the concept of taking photographs of things that catch your eye.

Doctor Renaud: Raspberry soft cream

I have been using three different face creams for two months now. I got a few No7 creams when the Boots 3 for 2 deal was on and I was also sent two creams to try out. I am going to be doing a review on each one and today is Doctor Renaud: Raspberry soft cream
This face cream is fantastic for anyone with very dry skin but if you have oily skin I would avoid it. My skin is very dry and those of you who also have dry skin will know how pleasing it is to use a face cream which keeps your face moisturised for long periods of time. I have used many creams which just don’t moisturise my skin for longer than half an hour and I end up having to apply more. With Raspberry soft cream my face feels beautifully smooth and full of moisture from the moment I apply it and lasts throughout the day. It’s rare that I have to apply any more during the day but because the packaging is very light and a good size and shape to keep in a handbag I always have it there just in case. I have used it as a hand cream from time to time and as you can imagine it is very good but I have to wait a few minutes before typing on my keyboard again.

Raspberry soft cream 2

Price: £24.95 – 50ml - I still have just under half a tube of this face cream left and I have been using it for around one month in total. I have also been using a variety of creams in the evening so this has stuck to being my morning cream. I also use this as a hand cream from time to time so it’s worth keeping that in mind. I think that this is going to last in total for just over two months and I don’t think that is a bad price to pay when you know it’s going to really look after your skin. This is a cream which I would be more inclined to buy at times when I know my skin is going to be very dry.

I personally find that it’s always good to have more than one cream to use during the summer months because big changes in the weather can cause my skin to become more dry. I buy a wide price range of  make up and beauty products, it just depends on how much I feel I can spend during that certain month.

This cream can be purchased via the website.

Raspberry soft cream

The best thing
about this cream is that although it is very thick and leaves your skin lovely and soft it isn’t greasy at all. It can be hard to find a non greasy yet very thick and intensive face cream but Doctor Renaud has the solution with Raspberry soft cream. I highly recommend this for those of you with very dry skin.

Zara June lookbook inspiration 2012

I am still really into Zara and have been visiting the Norwich store most weeks. Whenever I go into Zara I feel like I am in Europe which is a very good thing. Zara has lot’s of crisp white clothes at the moment which is of course making me wish we had more sunshine in Englad. Two days every few weeks just is not enough sun for my liking. Today was quite dull and wet in Norwich but it was still warm which is always quite confusing when it comes to deciding what to wear.

Zara always has a very European feel to it which is probably because it is a Spanish retailer, they do a fantastic job of bringing classic cuts and styles over to England which I think we can sometimes forget about. I also really like the bold shirts and dresses which they have in stock at the moment. I actually got this shirt in blue when I was last in Zara and I am looking forward to matching it with white skirts and layering it with a few dresses for work.

The inspiration photograph above is from the Zara lookbook for June.
